ABOUT THE ROLE

Under the leadership of the Director, Logistics Procurement, the Senior Procurement Logistics Specialist will support transportation procurement initiatives across the US Cement network. This role will serve as the primary resource for carrier development, strategic carrier sourcing, and transportation procurement activities while partnering closely with Cement Operations, Dispatch, Logistics, and business leadership. The successful candidate will lead transportation sourcing events, execute carrier RFQs, negotiate transportation agreements, support carrier onboarding, and identify opportunities to strengthen the carrier network. This role will play a key part in increasing market competition, improving transportation capacity, enhancing service performance, and delivering measurable transportation cost savings across the US Cement business.The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and results driven transportation procurement professional with strong negotiation, relationship management, and communication skills. This individual will support the execution of enterprise transportation procurement strategies while developing strategic carrier partnerships that align with operational objectives and drive continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Expand and strengthen our carrier network by identifying, qualifying, and onboarding strategic carrier partners that improve capacity and increase market competition.
  • Deliver measurable transportation cost savings through strategic sourcing initiatives, carrier negotiations ,transportation RFQs, and network optimization.
  • Establish strong partnerships with Operations, Dispatch, Logistics, and business leadership to proactively align transportation solutions with operational and commercial priorities.
  • Improve carrier performance, service reliability, and procurement execution through effective supplier relationship management and performance measurement.
  • Leverage freight analytics, market intelligence, and transportation data to identify opportunities that improve network efficiency and reduce total landed cost.
  • Support the execution of enterprise transportation procurement initiatives while contributing to a culture of safety, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Lead carrier development and strategic carrier sourcing initiatives across the US Cement network to increase competition, strengthen capacity, and deliver measurable transportation cost savings.
  • Execute transportation procurement activities, including RFQs, carrier sourcing events, benchmarking,and contract negotiations in alignment with enterprise logistics sourcing strategies.
  • Identify, qualify, onboard, and develop new carrier partners while maintaining strong relationships with existing strategic carriers to support network growth and operational excellence.
  • Partner with Cement Operations, Dispatch, Logistics, Sales, and business leadership to understand transportation requirements and develop sourcing strategies that support operational and commercial
    objectives.
  • Analyze freight spend, market trends, carrier performance, and network opportunities to identify cost savings, improve service levels, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Negotiate transportation rates, fuel surcharge programs, service expectations, capacity commitments,and long term transportation agreements.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these
    behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree
Additional Education Preferred: Field of Study Preferred: Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field and/or equivalent combination of procurement, logistics and industry experience 

Required Work Experience:5+ years of experience in transportation procurement, strategic sourcing, carrier management,
logistics operations, or a related supply chain function.  .
Required Computer and Software Skills:  Proficient in Microsoft skills; working knowledge in SAP.

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
