The Director, Supply Chain Strategy and Excellence is a critical leadership role responsible for driving transformational improvement across Bausch + Lomb's global supply chain network, with an initial focus on Logistics Excellence. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Supply Chain, this role serves as a strategic partner and trusted advisor in defining and executing the roadmap that delivers breakthrough improvements in service, cost, quality, and operational performance.

Bausch + Lomb relies on highly effective warehousing and logistics operations to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction across all product categories. This role will lead the identification, prioritization, and execution of enterprise-wide improvement opportunities that create a step change in supply chain performance. Through rigorous analytics, structured problem solving, stakeholder alignment, and disciplined project execution, the Director will build and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline while ensuring sustainable realization of business benefits.

Success in this role will be measured through tangible improvements in customer service levels, On-Time In-Full (OTIF) performance, logistics and distribution costs, warehouse productivity, inventory efficiency, quality performance, network reliability, and working capital optimization. The Director will be expected to identify and deliver value creation opportunities, establish a robust transformation pipeline, and accelerate execution of strategic initiatives that improve end-to-end supply chain performance.

This leader will play a pivotal role in shaping the future-state logistics organization, building continuous improvement capabilities, and creating sustainable competitive advantage through measurable improvements in service, cost, and quality across Bausch + Lomb's global supply chain network.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the Supply Chain Excellence agenda across the Logistics organization to deliver measurable improvements in customer service, cost efficiency, operational quality, and network performance.
  • Serve as the strategic partner to the Vice President, Supply Chain in developing and executing the multi-year logistics transformation roadmap.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops, value stream analyses, and opportunity assessments to identify, quantify, and prioritize transformation opportunities.
  • Establish and manage a robust opportunity funnel, including benefit quantification, resource prioritization, and initiative governance.
  • Analyze large and complex data sets across transportation, warehousing, inventory, customer service, and distribution operations to generate actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Lead strategic improvement initiatives from ideation through implementation and benefit realization, ensuring projects deliver targeted business outcomes.
  • Drive adoption of Lean Six Sigma methodologies, operational excellence principles, and continuous improvement capabilities throughout the supply chain organization.
  • Develop performance management frameworks, governance routines, KPI dashboards, and executive reporting mechanisms to track transformation progress.
  • Influence senior leaders and stakeholders across functions, regions, and business units to drive alignment and execution without direct authority.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, quality standards, and operational controls while implementing process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Manufacturing, Consulting, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale supply chain transformation, operational excellence, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to facilitate executive and operational workshops that identify opportunities and build actionable improvement roadmaps.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to derive insights from large, complex data sets and convert findings into measurable actions.
  • Strong project and program management capabilities with a track record of successfully delivering complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across highly matrixed and global organizations.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution and results delivery.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.

Specialized Training & Skills:

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Master Black Belt, or equivalent continuous improvement certification strongly preferred or Experience with a leading consulting firm or internal strategy, transformation, supply chain excellence, or operational excellence organization.
  • Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Change Management, and Structured Problem-Solving methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, planning, customer fulfillment, and network optimization.
  • Advanced analytical skills utilizing tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL, Alteryx, or similar analytics and visualization platforms.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards, KPI frameworks, transformation scorecards, and performance management systems.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience building business cases, quantifying savings opportunities, measuring ROI, and tracking benefit realization.
  • Proven ability to identify patterns and opportunities from large data sets and convert insights into executable business actions.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience leading logistics network transformation, distribution center optimization, transportation improvement, inventory optimization, or warehousing excellence initiatives.
  • Experience within medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare, consumer health, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, PMP, Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Demonstrated success driving enterprise transformation programs with measurable service, cost, quality, and productivity improvements.
  • Experience working in global organizations with complex stakeholder environments and diverse operational footprints.


 

This position may be available in the following location(s):  U.S. - Remote

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting pay for this role is between $235,000.00 and $270,000.00.  The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. They may also be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, disability and life insurance,  a 401(k) plan and company match, a tuition reimbursement program (select degrees), company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive sick time, floating holidays and paid vacation.
