Job description

  • Provide strategic leadership for global export operations across the North American region (US, Canada and Mexico) and import operations into the US. 
  • Direct a high-performing team of logistics professionals, from analysts to senior logistics managers, overseeing both operational execution and procurement strategy. 
  • Own and execute all international logistics sourcing and procurement initiatives, including contract negotiations, RFPs, and supplier relationship management. 
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive 2–3-year logistics strategy focused on network optimization, cost efficiency, and carbon footprint reduction. 
  • Build and maintain tactical and operational logistics plans based on volume forecasts, ensuring adequate capacity, infrastructure, and resource alignment. 
  • Lead the design and selection of strategic consolidation hubs for global direct material flows to streamline distribution and improve delivery performance. 
  • Drive enhanced PO-level visibility from order placement through final delivery using integrated systems and real-time tracking tools. 
  • Oversee the qualifications, selection, and ongoing performance management of logistics providers. 
  • Partner with best-in-class logistics providers who align with organizational goals for quality, innovation, and sustainability. 
  • Collaborate closely with trade compliance and regional logistics teams to ensure end-to-end alignment and regulatory adherence. 
  • Define performance targets and KPIs for logistics and procurement teams, tracking and reporting on service, cost, and savings performance. 
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and implementing process enhancements to drive operational excellence. 
  • Deliver monthly reporting on financial performance, including cost savings achievements, procurement impact, and budget adherence. 
  • Foster a culture of development and growth, coaching team members to ensure long-term success and succession planning across logistics and procurement functions.
