About Us:
The Caturus platform was founded by Kimmeridge, an alternative asset manager focused on the energy sector, with subsequent additional investment by Mubadala Energy. Caturus is building an independent, fully integrated natural gas and LNG export platform in the U.S. through a combination of its upstream operations and Commonwealth LNG, a 9.5 Mtpa LNG export terminal in southwestern Louisiana. Together, they will provide low-cost energy on demand with the lowest carbon footprint.
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Director, LNG Origination will be responsible for leading the strategy, negotiation, and execution of structured transactions, such as supply and hedging agreements for LNG. This role will drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and collaborating with trading and risk teams to secure long-term value.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Identify, value and bid on structured transactions to enhance Caturus' LNG portfolio. May include transportation, storage, long-term Park & Loans, supply, demand, and Asset Management Agreements (AMA's).
  • Monitor Caturus asset production and/or demand.
  • Work with traders, schedulers, and Caturus management team on deal identification & evaluation process.
  • Improve Caturus' deal valuation/structuring process.
  • Support other Caturus divisions that have exposure to LNG infrastructure. This may include negotiating long-term midstream agreements on behalf of those entities.
  • Assist with monitoring midstream developments such as expansion projects, rate filings, or other items that may impact Caturus. Communicate any critical developments in a timely manner.
  • Timely communication with traders and scheduling personnel regarding market and pipeline information.
  • Any other duties as directed by Manager.
  • Adherence to all corporate Risk Management policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Education, Certificates, and Licenses:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance or Mathematics required.

Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in Origination in the LNG industry required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proven experience in contract negotiations for transportation, storage, and term structured transactions.
  • Ability to develop and supervise other originator(s).
  • Understanding of deal valuation & structuring process.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word).
  • Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
