BHE GT&S has an exciting career opportunity as an LNG Facility Maintenance Coordinator (Mechanical/I&C/Electrical/Outage) at our Cove Point facility located in Lusby, MD.
Responsibilities
The LNG Facility Maintenance Coordinator reports to the Supervisor-LNG Operations (Maintenance) and is a member of multi-disciplined team responsible for the safe, compliant and reliable operation and maintenance of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import/export and re-gasification terminal mechanical equipment including LNG process system infrastructure, power/steam generation rotating machinery and auxiliary support systems.
The LNG Facility Maintenance Coordinator supports the Maintenance Planning Department planning corrective, preventive, predictive and compliance maintenance activities for the facility equipment including but not limited to compressors, gas turbines, steam turbines, fans, pumps, motors, pressure vessels, utilities, piping systems, valves, tanks, loading arms, and related auxiliary components typically found in large-scale industrial environments such as LNG terminals, power generation facilities, chemical and petrochemical plants, manufacturing operations, NGL processing facilities, cryogenic natural gas processing plants, and other hydrocarbon facilities.
The LNG Facility Maintenance Coordinator role is a multi-discipline posted position. The successful candidate will be assigned to one of the primary discipline areas listed below, based on their demonstrated competencies, qualifications, and experience:
  • Mechanical Maintenance
  • Instrument & Controls (I&C)
  • Electrical
  • Outage
  • Multi-discipline Projects

The successful candidate must be willing to work in an industrial environment and will be responsible for the mechanical reliability of facility equipment while ensuring the facility operates in full compliance with site, company, local, state, and federal policies, regulations, and procedures while also supporting continuous improvement, reliability initiatives, and cross-functional coordination. A strong commitment to safety and adherence to established protocols is essential to maintain the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the terminal.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan all maintenance activities with emphasis on a proactive and preventative maintenance approach based on industry best practices, manufacturer recommendations, and regulatory requirements to include but not limited to: FERC, PHMSA, NFPA, USCG, MDOL, MDE and EPA.
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (Maximo and Oracle) to manage assets, work orders, inventory, and scheduling to increase efficiency, reduce downtime, and streamline maintenance activities with a proactive approach.
  • Create, prioritize, and manage maintenance work orders and complete work packages, including procedures, safety requirements, job steps, and required resources.
  • Plan and coordinate the availability of parts, tools, equipment, and resources to ensure maintenance tasks are executed efficiently.
  • Coordinate and schedule external vendors and contractors performing specialized maintenance tasks, ensuring scope, safety, and quality standards are met.
  • Develop and maintain equipment records, maintenance plans, procedures, schedules, and test forms within the Maximo Maintenance Asset Management System to optimize equipment reliability and maintenance activities.
  • Interpret complex technical manuals, drawings, and equipment specifications, collaborating closely with technicians, supervisors, and other subject-matter experts to compile needed information to develop highly detailed, effective work plans.
  • Perform field walk-downs to validate drawings, manuals, procedures, and work packages while assessing actual plant conditions to ensure plan accuracy and readiness.
  • Participate in daily and monthly planning meetings, providing informed work-planning insight to align maintenance priorities and coordinate scheduled activities across operations, maintenance, engineering and supporting teams.
  • Provide clear communication of maintenance priorities and regulatory or company compliance requirements to ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality execution of work.
  • Create and manage purchase requisitions for materials, equipment, and contracted services to ensure timely procurement and support maintenance activities.
  • Support cost forecasting of short-term and long-term equipment maintenance OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
  • Provide review and input to Management of Change (MOC) processes for responsible equipment modifications.
  • Obtain a solid understanding of LNG liquefaction, shipping, vaporization, and power plant maintenance operations, typically gained through considerable related work experience with a broad knowledge of pipeline operations, engineering practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • May physically lead and direct maintenance projects in the field, providing hands-on oversight and work execution control during critical activities.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Preferred: Maintenance craft, lead or supervisor experience or journeyman level or higher operations experience in LNG production/processing, power generation or petrochemical industries. Completion of a formal craft training program is a plus. Maximo and Oracle experience is a plus. Inventory Management experience is a plus.

Qualifications
At least 5 years' related experience.
At least 3 years' experience in an industrial setting, in process/product chemical engineering or operations, or power plant operations.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements preferred, including DOT, FERC, NFPA, USCG, and EPA.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn other programs. Knowledge of SAP/Maximo required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; verbal and written.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of craft specialties/LNG operations.
  • Training on environmental, safety, operations and security procedures.
  • Contribute to a team-centric work environment based on mutual respect and integrity.

Education
Bachelor (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
