Position Summary...What you'll do...Role summary:
The Director, AI Upskilling leads enterprise initiatives that prepare Walmart associates for the future of work. This role builds scalable learning solutions that increase AI fluency, accelerate workforce capability, and expand career mobility through programs such as Associate-to-Technician and other skills-based pathways. Partnering across GTL, Walmart Academy, Talent, Operations, and business stakeholders, the director identifies workforce priorities and aligns learning strategies to business needs. This role oversees strategy, scaling, and partnerships with functional teams to deliver measurable workforce and business impact while supporting Walmart’s long-term workforce transformation.

The Walmart Academy learning team advances leadership capabilities through innovative, technology-driven talent development. It designs and delivers learning experiences that enhance coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills, preparing leaders to meet evolving business needs. By aligning learning strategies with organizational goals, the team fosters continuous improvement and operational excellence. Collaborating closely with business leaders, it ensures training programs effectively support priorities and develop a strong leadership pipeline equipped to address future challenges and sustain business growth.
What you'll do:
  • Lead a high-performing team focused on enterprise AI upskilling, specialty learning programs, and workforce pathways.
  • Develop and execute Walmart Academy’s AI fluency and workforce capability strategy with GTL and business stakeholders.
  • Build scalable skills pathways and career mobility programs aligned to workforce demand.
  • Partner across GTL, Academy, Talent, Operations, and business teams to identify capability needs and deliver learning solutions.
  • Manage program strategy, pilots, scaling, adoption, measurement, and continuous improvement.
  • Use insights and data to evaluate impact, guide decisions, manage partnerships, influence leaders, and shape workforce transformation priorities.

What you'll bring:
  • Experience leading teams in learning strategy, workforce development, talent enablement, instructional design, or capability-building functions.
  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and influence outcomes in matrixed organizations.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to connect workforce capability efforts to business priorities and operational outcomes.
  • Experience designing and scaling enterprise learning, career mobility, workforce transformation, or skills-based talent programs.
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, build alignment, and drive execution in fast-changing environments.
  • Familiarity with AI enablement, digital fluency, automation, or emerging workforce trends preferred.
  • Experience using data and insights to evaluate effectiveness and guide decisions.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
