Job description

IVI RMA North America has a need for a full-time Temporary Surgical Center Administrative Assistant for our Basking Ridge, NJ location. This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm with 2 weekend days a month.

Job Purpose: The Surgical Center Administrative Assistant is responsible for applying administrative and clerical skills that support the organization’s mission, values, ethics, philosophy, objectives and policies and procedures.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

  • Participates in the nursing process by assisting nurses and physicians in the PACU/Surgical Suite as directed and requested.
  • Prepares patient charts using ASCBR protocols and procedures; ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
  • Prepares patient transfer schedules.
  • Contacts transfer patients with arrival time and instructions. Refers clinical questions and/or assessments to nurses or physicians.
  • Maintains office supplies’ inventory and orders office supplies as needed.
  • Ensures sufficient snacks & beverages for patients.
  • Secures operation of office equipment (non-clinical) by adhering to preventive maintenance programs; troubleshoots malfunctions; equipment vendors, and other persons in a position to understand maintenance requirements.
  • Initiates and coordinates the clerical and secretarial functions required for the effective implementation of center administrative/operation policies and procedures.

Academic Training:

  • High school diploma or GED – required
    • Studies level: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Position Requirements/Experience

  • Experience working in medical/healthcare industry

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word and Excel
  • Computer operation and data entry skills
