What You'll Do:
The Materials Management Director is responsible for leading both the strategic direction and daily operations of the materials management function, including purchasing, inventory control, receiving, storage, and distribution.
This role ensures the timely, cost-effective procurement and availability of supplies and equipment, while maintaining strong inventory systems, financial controls, and compliance standards.
Leadership & Operations
  • Oversee daily materials management operations, including purchasing, receiving, inventory control, storage, and distribution
  • Lead, develop, and supervise department staff, including performance management and workflow coordination
  • Promote efficient use of resources including staff, space, equipment, and budget

Procurement & Vendor Management
  • Coordinate procurement activities including product research, evaluations, and purchasing decisions
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships, including negotiating pricing, reviewing bids, and resolving issues
  • Ensure cost-effective purchasing aligned with organizational needs

Inventory & Supply Chain Management
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure availability and minimize waste or overstock
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records, including invoice verification and reconciliation
  • Ensure proper receiving, inspection, storage, and distribution of supplies

Process Improvement & Compliance
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to purchasing, inventory control, and distribution
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate across departments to support operational needs and improve service delivery

What You'll Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in materials management, purchasing, or inventory control is required
  • Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing, bidding, negotiation, and purchasing processes
