About the Opportunity:

LMG Staffing Solutions is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a well-established and rapidly growing government contractor specializing in manufacturing, product distribution, and professional services for federal clients. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Director of Finance to lead and manage the company's full-cycle accounting and finance operations.

Position Overview:

The Director of Finance will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, accounting, compliance, and financial reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep expertise in Deltek Costpoint, government contracting, and financial operations within a manufacturing and distribution environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a process-improvement mindset, and the ability to partner with executive leadership to support continued organizational growth.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain the Deltek Costpoint accounting system, including project accounting and system configuration.
  • Oversee employee timesheet processing, labor distribution, and monthly PTO accruals.
  • Handle government contract invoicing, including submissions through WAWF, IPP, GSA, and other applicable systems.
  • Process vendor invoices, payments, and maintain vendor records.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including customer receipts and collections.
  • Perform bank transactions and reconciliations.
  • Record and reconcile revenue, billing, project income, and contract profitability.
  • Maintain accurate credit card and intercompany transactions.
  • Calculate, apply, and reconcile indirect cost pools, fringe, overhead, and G&A rates.
  • Set up and maintain accounts, projects, employees, and vendors within Costpoint.
  • Reconcile all general ledger accounts monthly.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, executive reporting packages, cash flow reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Support inventory accounting, production reporting, and financial controls related to manufacturing and distribution.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Program Management, HR, and executive leadership to monitor contract performance and project burn rates.
  • Lead finance process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and prepare for DCAA audits.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, DCAA, and all applicable government contracting regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA, CFA, CGFM, or CMA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
  • Expert-level experience with Deltek Costpoint is required.
  • Extensive experience supporting government contractors.
  • Strong understanding of DCAA compliance, FAR regulations, indirect rate structures, and cost-plus accounting.
  • Experience with inventory management, manufacturing, or product distribution finance is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with executive leadership.
Work Environment:

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Fredericksburg, VA. Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Director of Finance will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the organization while helping build scalable processes to support continued growth.
