Senior Director Purchasing North America

Reports to: President, Closures North America

Location:  Flexible - prefer someone to be near an Aptar NA site*

*This position is eligible for international relocation

 

The Senior Director, Purchasing NA reports to the President Beauty NAM and/or the President Closures NAM, as well as to the Group Purchasing Vice-President and sits on both segments' Leadership Teams. S/he coordinates with the Global Purchasing Head of Pharma to support addressing Pharma segment needs within NAM. As a member of the Global Aptar Purchasing Committee, s/he actively participates in developing Aptar worldwide purchasing strategies and governance. The position works across all NAM locations to oversee the purchasing organization and ensure high levels of service and satisfaction, considering cost, quality, and production constraints. This is a pivotal position that will shape the purchasing landscape for the region, and will be instrumental in building a leading-edge purchasing organization, establishing it as a high value-added function within the region and the Group. As a Senior Director Purchasing NA, You Will:

  • Liaise with other functional areas such as Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure alignment of activities and objectives 
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships 
  • Identify cost improvement opportunities and drive implementation 
  • Support onboarding of supplier innovation capabilities within their geography 
  • Identify and implement vendor solutions, ensuring suppliers' CI project execution 
  • Ensure compliance with rules and regulations 
  • Analyze market trends, recommend sourcing strategies, and anticipate changes in availability and cost 
  • Establish regional, category, and site metrics; coordinate reporting to NAM management 
  • Work closely with Aptar's worldwide purchasing group and other regional leaders to develop and implement global purchasing strategies 
  • Develop overall purchasing strategy for NAM, including market analysis, supplier selection and development, and contract negotiation 
  • Identify and address current and potential long-term supply risks; develop mitigation plans 
  • Actively engage in hiring top talent to fill open positions in Sites and Project & Innovation Purchasing

Education

  • Required:            Master's degree in business, engineering, or equivalent 

 

Experience/Skills                                        

  • At least 15 years of professional experience, preferably in industrial sector and with strong knowledge of Purchasing
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience managing diverse teams across multiple geographies 
  • Strong strategic thinking and collaborative skills; ability to foster innovation and teamwork

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $200,000 - $275,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
