Job Summary:

NXP is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to work with our Innovation team within Global Procurement who can drive complex global projects, including stakeholder management and international negotiations.

This role will be dedicated to the team who is responsible for all procurement activities related to IP, EDA and outsourced design for NXP.

Major characteristics of the function:

  • Lead commercial negotiations with cross-functional international team members
  • Drive the commercial negotiations and completing the contracting activities for the specified commodity area.
  • Provide input into stakeholder scope of requirements while offering commercial suggestions for value creation and maintaining a competitive environment
  • Establish and create Negotiation Plans for high value international projects
  • Perform market research to obtain market knowledge and experience to develop negotiation strategies and scout vendors
  • Actively manage all supplier relations, develop global market and commodity plans
  • Work with a high degree of independence by establishing international sourcing strategies with stakeholders while working to achieve organizational and departmental goals
  • Analyze spend categories and market conditions for appropriate application of sourcing strategies in the Innovation area.
  • Develop and lead global RFI's and RFQ's to include scope of work, negotiation planning, and driving results which meet organizational goals
  • Support stakeholders with explanations, interpretations and amendments of closed contracts.
  • Work with the stakeholders in R&D, the product lines, finance and legal on site
  • Contribute to process and organizational improvements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant Procurement experience within the Innovation category (IP, EDA and Outsourced Design)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience with service and licensing legal terms and conditions
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting negotiations in North America and Europe.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple, simultaneous, complex sourcing events, and contractual activities.
  • Experience in managing and/or leading international commercial procurement projects
  • Strong team player and collaboration skills on an international level
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple activities at one time
  • Self starter, ability to work independently in a dynamic and ambiguous global environment supporting multiple time zones
  • Creative thinker, interested in innovation as well as pragmatic results.
  • Excellent planning, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Strong MS Excel, PowerPoint presentation and data analytical skills
  • Background of working in Procurement for R&D in the semiconductor industry is highly desirable
  • Candidate must reside in Austin, Texas
