NOTE:

This position requires candidates with at least 2 year of water-based ink mixing/color matching experience.

Shift Type: Candidates should be open to working Day, Night, Weekends, and Rotating shifts

This is an in-plant position within the customer's plant. Employees would be responsible for the following but not limited to:

Position Summary:

The Ink Technician is responsible for producing high-quality blended inks that meet customer specifications. This role involves hands-on work in the ink formulation process, ensuring accurate color matching and timely delivery of press-ready inks to customer equipment. The technician will maintain organized work areas and contribute to quality assurance by adhering to production schedules and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weigh, blend, and deliver press-ready inks efficiently to customer equipment while adhering to quality standards.
  • Perform precise color matching and ink formulation according to customer production schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including records of color matches, ink adjustments, consignment returns, and customer complaints as directed by the supervisor.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized workspace to support a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Adhere to all required personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Decision-Making Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the quality of the product delivered to customers by verifying conformance to specifications.
  • Select appropriate raw materials and assess the suitability of finished ink matches for new color formulations.
  • Evaluate the suitability of returning ink for recycling processes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in chemistry or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in ink formulation, blending, or a related field is a plus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfort working with chemicals in a production environment.
  • Comfortable working 12 hour rotating shifts.
