Hourly Range: $32.25/hour - $40.31/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts daily monitoring of all clinical areas with Radiology imaging access to ensure all staff are able to access Radiology Images adequately to maintain continuity of patient care. Provide imaging management and support to those areas that need assistance and implements solutions for recurrent problems.
  • Ensure that all Radiology images cross between systems expediently and ensure all images are correctly labeled and transferred with correct patient data.
  • Check the PACS system daily to ensure accuracy, troubleshoot and resolve any issues or errors that are found or reported.
  • Act as a liaison for Radiology Services and Medical Staff who may need assistance in learning how to work with the varying imaging systems on viewing images, retrieving reports, and ordering exams.
  • Act as liaison between Radiology Services and Information Technology (IT) and Healthcare Technology Management staff to ensure that all systems are working in unison effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure that the latest software updates/revisions being implemented in the hospital are compatible with the Radiology System and contingency plans are in place in case of emergencies.
  • Conduct daily checks on the Radiology UPS equipment and all other programs to maintain quality output and meet system specifications.
  • Work with EHR Clinical Applications Coordinator to ensure that the Radiology Department’s portion of the EHR and RPMS programs are up to date and to ensure information accuracy to help maintain the hospital’s overall compliance.
  • Implement new PACS systems and functionality.
  • Monitor and administer all PACS related portals.
  • Monitor and communicate unread/unreconciled exams to clinical teams on a daily basis.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on PACS functionalities.
  • Manage and maintain the primary PACS system in collaboration with vendors and strategic partners.
  • Assist with managing, supporting, interfacing or training of various PACS systems used by groups with whom FDIHB has contractual reading relationships.
  • Reconcile and troubleshoot daily report distribution to referring physicians.
  • Coordinate with Radiologists, Technologists, IT and Health Information Management staff to ensure seamless operation of the PACS system.
  • Respond to on call services in a timely manner.
  • Provide 24/7 maintenance of systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: 

  • Two (2) years of direct work experience in Health Information Technology (HIT) and/or Radiology PACS systems.

Education:

  • Associate’s degree in Radiology Information System (RIS), Health Information Technology (HIT), or Information Technology (IT).

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Certified PACS Associate (CPAS) through the PACS Administrators Registry and Certification Association (PARCA) and must maintain certification. OR
  • Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) through the American Board of
    Imaging Informatics (ABII) and must maintain certification.
