Infection Control Nurse at Cape Heritage Rehab in Sandwich

Can be an LPN or RN. $40 to $50 an hour, depending on experience and license. Cape Heritage is a 123-bed skilled nursing facility.

As an Infection Control Nurse, you will play a vital role in planning, organizing, developing, coordinating, directing, and evaluating our Infection Control Program to ensure an effective Infection Prevention & Control Program is maintained.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, develop, coordinate, direct, and evaluate our Infection Control Program and its components to ensure an effective Infection Prevention & Control Program is maintained.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation related to the Infection Control & Prevention Program.
  • Conduct monthly surveillance rounds to evaluate the status of Infection-related practices in the facility.
  • Assist the Staff Development Director in educating employees on Infection Control Practices, Policies, and Procedures.
  • Participate in the Employee Health and Safety Committees and maintain Employee Health Records.
  • Review monthly laboratory reports and assure up-to-date laboratory policy/procedure manuals are available.
Requirements:
  • Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college or university.
  • Must possess an active and unencumbered LPN or RN license in Massachusetts. CPR required.
  • Must possess training or current experience in wound care.
  • Certification in infection control and/or wound care preferred, but not necessary.
  • Two years of Infection Control experience preferred.
  • Must have at least two (2) years of clinical experience in a long-term care facility.
  • Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic techniques to include Standard Precautions.
