CPIhealth is a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to individuals experiencing chronic pain. The ASC Nurse Administrator serves as a vital link between the larger vision of the organization and the delivery of effective, efficient, high quality patient care, in addition to assuring the ongoing competence of ASC staff. Directly oversee Ambulatory surgery center department. This position is vested with independent decision-making authority to implement strategies, programs, and patient care consistent with organization's policies, goals and objectives, and company's vision to achieve excellence in the delivery of nursing care to our patients. This role also serves as the Infection Control Director for the site which serves as the designated infection prevention and control officer for the facility, ensuring compliance with Indiana state regulations, CMS Conditions for Coverage, and ASC accreditation standards. This individual is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing an effective infection prevention and control program that protects patients, staff, and visitors, and ensures a safe environment of care.


Ambulatory Surgery Center Management Planning and Development Establish, monitor and maintain policies and procedures for the Ambulatory Surgery Center setting in collaboration with the Executive leadership team and the medical director: Develop and monitor departmental strategic planning including staffing, fiscal managements, goals and objectives. Responsible for providing leadership, staff development and management of key services in accordance with policies and procedures and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Manages assigned ASC staff including scheduling, hiring, training and development, and coaching of direct reports. May also assist with assessment and training for other department staff as requested. Completes performance evaluations and initiates personnel actions, such as merit increases, promotions, transfers, disciplinary actions, and terminations. This will include coordinating with the Regional Operations Director, Medical Directors, and physicians concerning the performance of the ASC staff. Conducts department meetings and quarterly 1:1 meetings with individual department staff. Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators. Creates collaborative relationships within department and throughout organization. Enhances communications and collaboration with medical staff throughout areas of clinical responsibility. Provides for ASC operations that are fiscally sound and meet the MDH ASC regulatory standards. Assists with staff, patient and physician satisfaction. Assures quality patient care that is focused on best practice. Operationalizes an integrated Quality Improvement process that is inclusive of nursing and medicine with the Quality and Compliance team. Identifies and introduces relevant trends, research, and key concepts within clinical service area when appropriate. Responsible for developing education and training programs to ensure appropriate knowledge and competence of all ASC functions performed within the ASC. Training responsibilities include oversight and development of online education, outsourced education and live training programs. Accountable for attaining satisfaction benchmarks for clinical areas of responsibility. Reviews literature to determine current nursing and clinical staff practice trends. Attends ASC related trainings and conferences as requested. Serves as an active member on relevant committees upon request. Accountability for achievement of efficiency in the ASC based on clinical productivity benchmarks with attention to nursing productivity and resource utilization. Responsible for contracted vendor services and equipment maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of Capitol Pain Institute.
Infection Prevention Program Oversight Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Infection Prevention and Control Plan (IPCP) tailored to the ASC's services, patient population, and risk factors. Ensure infection prevention policies and procedures align with CMS, Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), AAAHC, and other regulatory and accrediting body standards. Conduct infection surveillance, data collection, analysis, and reporting in compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements. Investigate and report infections, outbreaks, and adverse events in accordance with state-mandated reporting requirements.
Regulatory Compliance Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and Indiana state regulations for infection control in ASCs. Prepare for and participate in surveys and inspections by ISDH, CMS, and accrediting bodies. Ensure infection control practices meet state and federal requirements for environmental cleaning, sterilization, high-level disinfection, and employee health.
Education & Training Develop and deliver ongoing infection control training and competency assessments for clinical and non-clinical staff. Educate staff on infection prevention best practices, including hand hygiene, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe injection practices.
Performance Improvement Lead infection control quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with leadership to evaluate infection prevention goals and ensure integration into the facility's Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. Participate in infection control committee meetings and contribute to development of facility-wide performance metrics related to infection prevention.
Collaboration & Consultation Act as a resource to physicians, staff, and patients on matters related to infection prevention. Work closely with clinical leaders to assess infection risks, develop mitigation strategies, and respond to identified infection control issues. Serve as the liaison with ISDH and other external agencies regarding infection control and public health matters.

Requirements

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing, preferred or related field.

 Minimum of 5 years of healthcare management experience, including at least 2-3 years of proven leadership experience within an ASC.

At least 5 years of education and training development and presentation.

Prior experience in infection control, quality improvement, or regulatory compliance required.

Knowledge of Kentucky infection control requirements for ASCs, CMS Conditions for Coverage, and AAAHC standards.

Effective written and verbal communication skills with direct patient care experience.

Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational, judgment, communication and analytical skills; sometimes under pressure.

Ability to multi-task and perform multiple priorities.

Cooperative and professional behavior toward patients, peers, providers, management and visitors.

Ability to make independent decisions and assume responsibility for same.

Able to think conceptually and apply concepts in a practical application; able to operationalize the vision.

Licenses & Certifications:

Current state registration as a Registered Nurse.

Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) preferred.

Current and valid driver's license and proof of valid automotive insurance.


Physical Demands:

Frequent standing, walking, speaking, grasping, and carrying.

Occasional sitting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, and crouching.

Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds, with assistance if needed.

May need to lift or turn patients who are disabled, with assistance if needed.

Pay: $115, 000 - $125,000 + 10% Bonus Eligibility
