Job description:
Industrial Robotics Technician
Job Overview:
Rebellion Automation designs and deploys automation solutions for warehouse and distribution environments. We're looking for an Industrial Robotics Mechanic to assemble, commission, troubleshoot and support our robotic shuttle and lift systems--both at our Columbia, TN facility and at customer sites across the country. This is a hands on role for someone who's equally comfortable with a wrench, a multimeter, a laptop and who takes pride in leaving equipment better than they found it.
This role requires regular travel, including a current active site in Kentucky. Future job sites to include Pennsylvania and Oklahoma.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble robotic shuttle and vertical lift systems from mechanical drawings and build documentation, including frame assembly, precision alignment, drive systems and sensor/component mounting
- Wire and integrate electrical components-- motor controllers, sensors, connectors and low voltage control wiring -- following schematics and wiring diagrams
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in the field and in-house, isolating root cause down to the component repairs
- Program, configure and troubleshoot PLC/controls logic on deployed systems; modify existing programs as needed to resolve issues or support commissioning
- Document all assembly, commissioning, troubleshooting and repair work clearly and consistently, including as-built records, punch lists and service reports
- Evaluate current designs in the field and provide feedback to the engineering team on recurring failure points, weak spots or opportunities to improve reliability and serviceability
- Travel to customer site for installation, commissioning and service support, typically for multi-day trips
- Coordinate with engineering, project management and customer personnel to ensure successful system deployment and handoff
What You Bring
Required:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in industrial mechanical/electrical assembly, maintenance or field service (robotics, ASRS, conveyor systems, AMR/AGV or similar automation equipment (strongly preferred)
- Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics
- Working knowledge of electrical troubleshooting -- multimeter use, connector/sensor diagnostics, low-voltage control circuits
- Comfortable using hand tools power tools and precision measurement equipment
- Welding experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly (multi-day trips, various U.S. states)
- Strong written documentation habits -- you can clearly explain what you did and why, enough for someone else to follow
- Self-directed: comfortable making sound judgement calls at a remote site without an engineering direction
Preferred:
- Experience with PLC programming or troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens or similar platforms)
- Experience with robotics, AMR/AGV or material handling automation systems
- OSHA forklift and/or aerial/scissor lift certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Background in industrial maintenance, millwright work, mechatronics, electro-mechanical systems or a related trade
- An eye for design -- comfortable speaking up when something in the filed points to a design improvement, not just a one-off fix
This position offers an engaging work environment where innovation meets precision engineering. The Robotics Technician will be instrumental in advancing our automation capabilities while ensuring operational excellence across our manufacturing processes.
