Job Overview

The Senior Director, Customer Fulfillment Center oversees all aspects of leadership, engagement, strategic planning, and overall financial and operational performance of the goods-to-person customer fulfillment center operations. They develop short- and long-term plans to drive continuous improvement and ensure achievement of facility and organizational objectives. Additionally, they provide high-level leadership, direction, and coaching to the CFC leadership team to successfully and effectively accomplish operational goals and attain optimum performance levels.

What You Will Do

  • Provide coaching and training to colleagues through both informal and formal programs. Establish consistent standards with the leadership team to ensure uniform coaching and performance-based feedback for all colleagues, while also maintaining accountability for results.
  • Cultivate and sustain a culture dedicated to engagement and diversity, equity, and inclusion by fostering a colleague-centered workplace that prioritizes care and concern for all individuals.
  • Ensure the efficiency of work methods, procedures, controls, and staffing, recommending alternatives as necessary to facilitate accurate and timely movement and processing of products. Manage warehouse layout to maximize efficiency, adapting to seasonal and inventory fluctuations.
  • Lead all operational departments in alignment with company profit objectives and customer experience goals.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of all operations KPIs, including production and planning, cost control, safety, inventory, facility maintenance, and shortage.
  • Demonstrate strong community-building skills and serve as a senior leadership representative for Macy's community relations.
  • Spearhead process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for optimization, actively participating in strategic and business process improvement projects within the distribution network.
  • Coordinate budget preparation and execution across operational functional areas.
  • Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to track department progress toward stated goals and objectives. Continuously drive process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and reduce overall costs.
  • Collaborate with business partners to achieve results and implement solutions across key components of business operations, including Finance, Human Resources, Asset Protection, Merchandising, and Stores.
  • Uphold a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

Skills You Will Need

Leadership: Proven ability to develop high-performing teams, foster a culture of engagement, inclusion, and community, and drive results through effective leadership. Ability to effectively lead Goods-to-Person and Pocket Sorter automation.

Problem-Solving: React quickly and appropriately to operational issues, follow up on unresolved matters promptly, and drive continuous process improvement.

Customer Focus: Create a customer-focused environment where excellent service is provided to all customers, ensuring business decisions align with customer needs and expectations.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant business software to effectively analyze data and communicate information.

Industry Understanding: Goods-to-Person automation, business and intellectual competencies, including industry understanding of warehouse management, negotiation skills, strategic planning, staff development, and creativity in problem-solving.

Who You Are

  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 5+ years’ advanced knowledge of Supply Chain processes and systems. 
  • This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on department and company needs. 
  • Travel required up to 15%.
