Job description

The Sr. HR Analytics & System Support Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining HR reports, dashboards, and data extracts while ensuring data integrity, governance, and compliance across reporting outputs. This role also provides functional support for HR systems-primarily Workday, including system administration, security, business process maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and end-user training. In addition, the specialist partners with stakeholders and vendors to deliver process improvements, support key HR operations such as open enrollment and compensation cycles, and maintain documentation that enables efficient, reliable HR service delivery.

Principal Responsibilities

  • HR reporting & analytics:
    • Develop, Optimize, and maintain standard and ad hoc HR reports, dashboards, and metrics leveraging data sources provided via the Workday system
    • Develop and maintain Workday reports (e.g., custom reports, calculated fields) and data extracts;
    • Supports the HR team in the maintenance of department processes and procedure documentation
    • Ensure alignment to data definitions and governance standards.
    • Gather requirements from stakeholders, propose solutions, and communicate timelines and risks;
    • Monitor data integrity, investigate discrepancies, and implement controls to improve accuracy, auditability, and repeatability of reporting outputs.
    • Ensure reports and extracts follow access controls, confidentiality requirements, and applicable regulations; support audit requests as needed.
  • HR System support:
    • Provide functional HR system support with a heavy focus on Workday support through system administration and configuration including maintenance of security and business processes.
    • Serves as the primary contact for employees, vendors, and partner to the HR team for general HR systems inquiries, issues and requests including troubleshooting, resolution and documentation of root causes and preventive actions;
    • Leads testing and documentation of new procedures, enhancements, and modifications to support the operation and the maintenance of HR systems and provide end-user training.
    • Identify and assess potential Human Resources data security risks. Work with HR leadership to mitigate issues.
    • Assists HR Operations team with the setup and testing of the annual open enrollment and compensation processes.
    • Manage integration activities, including monitoring, updating, and partnering with vendors to support custom integration needs. Maintain process documentation, report catalogs/data dictionaries, job aids, and standard operating procedures for reporting and HRIS support.
  • Manages multiple deliverables and assignments on schedule.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in HR reporting/analytics, & HRIS/Workday system support Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.) and strong data validation practices are required.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, HR data structures, and Workday functionality, including reporting, business processes, security, and data governance.
  • Demonstrated skill in report development, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and data quality management.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skill; ability to explain data and system concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating them into reporting deliverables and/or system solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer support skills with a track record of managing multiple priorities and SLAs.
  • Working knowledge of data privacy principles and role-based access controls for HR data.
