Essential Functions:

  • Must promote and maintain a respectful and safe work environment where talented employees can thrive and grow.
  • Responds to questions and concerns and advises employees on resolving related problems.
  • Communicates and consults with Leader and other shift leads throughout the department and company to plan work schedules and to make sure that the work is progressing on time.
  • Assists in the training and development of employees to ensure a understanding of BTD's Values, Mission, and Vision.
  • Assists the Leader in employee evaluation, retention and 1 to 1's (where applicable).
  • Monitors work habits of employees and make suggestions/corrections when needed.
  • Promotes and enforces company policies as they relate to ISO standards and set an example for co-workers to follow by maintaining standards of work performance, good housekeeping and safety awareness.
  • Communicates employee concerns to appropriate Leader.
  • Must have basic understanding of the computer software such as SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook, approve's payroll and enters near misses into industry safe.
  • Required to perform rounds to insure performance expectations are being met throughout the shift.
  • Understand BTD's KPI's and conducts huddles.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Graduation from high school (or equivalent) plus one year of technical training or equivalent experience.

Experience and Skills Required: Demonstrate sufficient knowledge of BTD and the ability to learn the mechanics and develop strong working relations with co-workers, or recent related mechanical and shop experience gained from a different department at BTD or previous employment. This may include the following skills and abilities:

  • Working knowledge of the production process and metal fabrication machines.
  • Working knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods, and practices used in production operations.
  • Working knowledge of related safety requirements to include proper use of safety equipment and proper safety precautions such as lights, guards, switches, etc.
  • Must be able to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Must be a role model of BTD's Culture for co-workers within BTD and the Community.
  • Must be able to plan, organize, and direct work in a safe, efficient, and orderly manner.
  • Must be able to maintain high level of work performance and moral with co-workers.

Compensation Salary Range: OTC7: $26.19 - $36.69 per hour. The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(K) match, etc.
