Job description

About Superhuman
Grammarly is now part of Superhuman, the AI productivity platform on a mission to unlock the superhuman potential in everyone. The Superhuman suite of apps and agents brings AI wherever people work, integrating with over 1 million applications and websites. The company's products include Grammarly's writing assistance, Coda's collaborative workspaces, Mail's inbox management, and Go, the proactive AI assistant that understands context and delivers help automatically. Founded in 2009, Superhuman empowers over 40 million people, 50,000 organizations, and 3,000 educational institutions worldwide to eliminate busywork and focus on what matters. Learn more at Superhuman and about our values here.
The Opportunity
As Superhuman brings together Grammarly, Coda, and Mail into a unified AI productivity suite, the role of Growth Design has become increasingly important. This is an opportunity to shape how customers discover, adopt, and engage with the broader ecosystem - not just a single product. Design plays a critical role in helping users unlock new workflows, build lasting habits, and experience the value of the suite at the right moments in their journey.
As a Staff Product Designer, Growth, you will lead the strategy and execution of activation, onboarding, and early lifecycle experiences across the Superhuman suite. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Research, and Analytics to craft thoughtful experiments, define key moments of customer value, and create polished product experiences that drive adoption and engagement.
This is a highly collaborative and strategic role that requires systems thinking, strong product intuition, and exceptional craft. You will help shape the roadmap for cross-product discovery, influence how AI-powered experiences are introduced to users, and elevate the quality and culture of growth design across the organization.
In this role, you will:
  • Design impactful onboarding, activation, and engagement experiences that help users discover and adopt features across the Superhuman suite.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Research, and Analytics to identify growth opportunities and deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • Define and execute experiments that guide users toward meaningful "aha" moments, from early concepts and prototypes through polished, high-fidelity designs.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative insights to improve feature discovery, habit formation, retention, and overall customer engagement.
  • Help shape the strategy and roadmap for cross-product activation initiatives, ensuring experiences feel cohesive across Grammarly, Coda, and Mail.
  • Create interaction patterns that balance power, simplicity, and approachability across complex and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality, on-brand experiences that drive measurable business impact.
  • Contribute to and elevate the culture of design craft through feedback, mentorship, collaboration, and a consistently high bar for quality.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, exploring how AI can create more intuitive, delightful, and effective customer experiences.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in product design, with at least 3+ years focused on growth, onboarding, activation, engagement, or lifecycle experiences.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence across interaction design, visual design, prototyping, typography, layout, and systems thinking.
  • Experience designing and running product experiments that balance customer needs with business goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Research, and Analytics teams.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale, strategy, and tradeoffs.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, bring clarity to complex problems, and adapt quickly as new insights emerge.
  • Deep empathy for users and a strong understanding of customer behavior, motivation, and emotional experience.
  • High level of craft and attention to detail, with a passion for creating premium, thoughtful product experiences.
  • Self-directed and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and move quickly in fast-paced environments.
  • Enthusiasm for AI-native products and workflows, with curiosity about how AI can improve both customer experiences and team productivity.
  • Experience with monetization, upgrade flows, or team growth experiences is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
Superhuman offers all team members competitive pay along with a benefits package encompassing the following and more:
  • Excellent health care (including a wide range of medical, dental, vision, mental health, and fertility benefits)

  • 401(k) and RRSP matching
