Xylem is hiring aGeneral Manager, Custom Pump responsible for overallP&L leadership and business performancefor Xylem's global Custom Pump business. This leader provides end-to-end ownership acrossstrategy, commercial execution, project management, product management, and operational performance. This role is critical to drivingprofitable growth, execution excellence, and customer value creationacross a global engineered-to-order business. The General Manager will ensure strong alignment acrosscommercial, engineering, supply chain, and operations, while helping advance Pewaukee, WI as a key hub for custom pump capabilities.

Core Responsibilities:

Business and Financial Leadership

  • Lead the full P&L for the Custom Pump business, includingorders, revenue, profitability, backlog quality, and cash flow.
  • Drive annual operating plans, strategic planning processes, and business performance rhythms.
  • Provide clear, structured updates to senior leadership on financial performance, risks, opportunities, and mitigation actions.
  • Translate business strategy into actionable priorities, performance metrics, and execution plans.

Strategy and Global Business Leadership

  • Define and execute the global strategy for the Custom Pump business, including market prioritization, growth initiatives, and capability development.
  • Lead global business reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise and regional strategies.
  • Partner closely with global teams, including India, to strengthen growth, cost competitiveness, and execution capability.
  • Support key pursuits and enable cross-regional collaboration to capture opportunistic growth.

Commercial Leadership

  • Lead commercial strategy across pipeline development, opportunity prioritization, pricing discipline, and order conversion.
  • Engage directly with key customers, partners, and channels to strengthen Xylem's market position and accelerate growth.
  • Support the pursuit and closure of large, complex, project-based opportunities.

Project Management and Execution

  • Ensure disciplined execution across all customer orders, including forecasting accuracy, risk management, and on-time delivery.
  • Drive strong project governance through regular review mechanisms that align timelines, budgets, procurement plans, and operational readiness, while identifying and resolving risks early.
  • Partner across commercial, engineering, and operations teams to deliver high-quality customer outcomes.
  • Continuously improve execution discipline, backlog conversion, and customer communication.

Product and Application Management

  • Guide product and application strategy, including portfolio direction, lifecycle management, and solution positioning.
  • Support new product introduction and application-specific solution development aligned to market and customer needs.
  • Integrate customer and market insights into product and business decisions to improve competitiveness.

Operations and Supply Chain Leadership

  • Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improvesafety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Build the capabilities needed to support assembly, testing, and delivery of Custom Pump solutions aligned with business requirements.
  • Help optimize a global supply chain that supports growth and margin expansion.
  • Leverage global manufacturing capabilities, including India, to improve execution of global projects and increase competitiveness.
  • Support the continued development ofPewaukee as a center of excellence for Flygt / BABA submersible pump assembly and testing.

Culture, Safety, and Continuous Improvement

  • Champion a culture ofsafety, compliance, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Promote adoption of digital and AI-enabled tools to improve decision-making and execution efficiency.

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor's degree inEngineering, Business, Operations, or a related fieldrequired.
Advanced degree preferred.

Work Location Requirement:

This is afull-time onsite leadership role based in Xylem's Pewaukee, Wisconsin facility. The selected candidate is expected to work onsite full time to lead business performance, cross-functional coordination, and operational execution.

Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
