Join Fidelity Labs, our in-house new business incubator, as one of the founding Principal Full Stack Engineers for an early-stage GenAI startup for investment research. In this role, you will be responsible for working across the development and product teams to build and scale a modern.

As a Director Full Stack Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving new application experiences and business capabilities to support a new business initiative. You will work closely with the VP of Technology and multi-functional teams, driving technical decisions and ensuring the delivery of scalable, maintainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy and Planning:

    • Drive the design and development of modular, reusable front-end components in Angular, enabling sharing across multiple product teams.

    • Define and execute on tech vision in consultation with architecture, engineering and product leadership. Brings tech vision to life; emphasizes platform stability, and engineering subject area.

  • Hands-on Engineering:

    • Builds expertise in Fidelity practices and continuously monitors industry advancements. Leads the creation and maintenance of engineering standards to ensure relevance and innovation.

    • Architect and implement robust back-end services using Python, EKS, and AWS, with a focus on scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

    • Champion standard processes in modular application design, including micro-frontends, shared libraries, and integration patterns.

  • Mentoring: Mentors agile teams including developers, testers and analysts. Serves as a link between product and architecture.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • A Master's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, Engineering, or a related field

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of delivering complex applications.

  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience

  • Deep full-stack expertise in Python, EKS, HTML, CSS, javascript, Angular, AWS, and databases systems.

  • Strong understanding of modular architecture, component sharing, and scalable design principles.

  • Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs and working with cloud-native technologies.

  • High degree of autonomy and ownership; able to drive projects forward with minimal guidance.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and align partners.

Bonus Points:

  • Prior experience developing Gen AI applications

  • Prior work in a startup or incubator environment, building products from the ground up.

Fidelity's Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

The base salary range for this position is $126,000-255,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
