Purpose
The Operations Finance Director is a strategic partner to plant leadership, responsible for driving financial performance, cost control, and operational efficiency. This role ensures accurate reporting, compliance with corporate policies, and provides actionable insights to improve profitability, reliability and sustainability. 


Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis 
•    Lead plant-level budgeting and forecasting, integrating operational inputs 
•    Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for plant performance
•    Conduct variance analysis on production costs and operational KPIs
Cost Accounting & Control 
•    Maintain and monitor standard costs for products and processes
•    Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances; recommend corrective actions
•    Support annual recosting exercises and cost optimization initiatives
Operational Performance 
•    Partner with plant leadership to identify cost drivers, risks, and opportunities
•    Develop dashboards and KPIs for conversion cost, productivity, and efficiency
Capital Investment & ROI 
•    Perform ROI analysis for capital projects and major initiatives
•    Support decision-making on CapEx allocation and resource utilization
Compliance & Internal Controls 
•    Ensure adherence to corporate financial policies and regulatory standards
•    Maintain strong controls around inventory and fixed assets
•    Support internal and external audits
Business Partnering 
•    Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to align financial goals with operational priorities
•    Provide financial training to plant staff on cost control and budgeting principles
•    Sustainability & Special Projects 
•    Track and report greenhouse gas emissions and other sustainability metrics
•    Lead initiatives for process improvement, automation, and ERP optimization


Skills

•    Proficient in ERP system implementation (NetSuite preferred)
•    Strong knowledge of cost accounting and financial modeling
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications/Requirements
•    Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required (MBA preferred)
•    5+ years in operations finance within a manufacturing environment
•    CPA or CMA preferred
•    Valid Class C drivers license
•    Clearance of favorable background investigation required
