Job description

ADP is hiring a Director, Finance Business Partner for our Tax team.

Well, this may be the role for you.

In this critical role, the Director, Finance Business Partner will provide financial and strategic decision support to the business to ensure achievement of short and long-term financial goals. This role will support the Tax team of the PEO (Professional Employer Organization) BU - over $6BN in annual revenue. Partnering with Tax leadership, the Director will facilitate the understanding of key business dynamics, including productivity analysis, margin improvement, pricing, etc. Driving best practices, the Director will optimize financial opportunities regarding revenue generation and expense management throughout the Tax organization. The Director will also work with operational teams to track progress against operational and financial goals in furtherance of the Transformation of the Tax team. In doing so, the Director acts as a support function for the operating plan, forecast process, and management reporting/financial close activities for this team. Other areas of focus will include FP&A and P&L Management, requiring coordination with operational experts, and Corporate Control, Treasury, & Legal. Direct Tax experience, while certainly a plus, is not required for this position.

What you'll do:
  • Business Partnering: Partners with Key Stakeholders and Business Partners to align on business priorities and drive effective solutions/execution. Constructively communicates compelling arguments based on facts and data and obtains necessary buy-in to deliver on business objectives. Partners with senior/general management in setting direction and managing key priorities such as client profitability and retention, competitive position, expense management, product enhancements and other business opportunities. Acts as the Finance business partner to functional partners for decision-making.
  • Business Analysis: Commands deep understanding of objectives, issues, and root causes to provide insightful, fact-based data analysis to help solve complex problems. Provides financial and strategic decision support to senior management to ensure the achievement of short and long-term financial goals. Assists management in understanding the business dynamics, which includes productivity, relationships, models, trends, leading indicators, and business statistics.
  • Financial Operational Policy: Establishes and maintains consistent financial operational policies and procedures to govern related practices. Drives identification of best practices related to financial operations policies and procedures; recommends modifications as needed. Ensures continued compliance with all policies and practices such as Loss Reporting/Technical Lost Business.
  • Management Reporting and Financial Close Activities: Produces and distributes recurring and ad hoc management reports. Responsible for financial reporting accuracy; partners with shared services organizations and ensures adequate control environment to mitigate financial and business risks in collaboration with process owners. Leverages recurring and ad hoc management reporting to identify trends, build business cases, highlight opportunities and risks, and drive business decision-making.
Experience

You have 8+ years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.
