Strategic Expectations

  • Field Strategy Partnership: Partner with Commercial Leadership to define field strategy, customer-facing priorities, execution plans, and performance measures.
  • Thought Leadership: Serve as a strategic thought partner on field effectiveness, customer engagement, sales force effectiveness, and commercial execution.
  • Hands-On Analytics: Personally engage in data modeling, performance analysis, scenario development, and insight generation to inform business decisions.
  • Capability Building: Shape the vision, operating model, tools, processes, and capabilities required for continuous improvement of the Field Effectiveness & Operations organization.
  • Pull-Through with the Field: Translate strategy and analytics into practical actions that field leadership and frontline leaders can adopt and execute.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong partnerships across Analytics, Brand Teams, CRM, Training, Digital, Market Access, Finance, and Sales Leadership to align priorities and accelerate impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Ownership: Lead field effectiveness strategy, sales force effectiveness, field operations, performance management, and customer-facing team capability initiatives.
  • Hands-On Execution: Work directly with data, dashboards, analytical models, CRM outputs, segmentation, targeting, territory performance, field activity, and customer engagement data to identify opportunities and solve business problems.
  • Commercial Decision Support: Develop insights, recommendations, and clear executive-ready narratives that help Commercial Leadership make better and faster decisions.
  • Field Leadership Partnership: Partner with field leaders and frontline managers to understand execution barriers, improve adoption, and create practical solutions that improve customer engagement and performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Establish routines, scorecards, performance reviews, and feedback loops that help the organization learn, adapt, and improve over time.
  • Integrated Ways of Working: Connect Analytics, Brand Teams, CRM, Training, Customer Engagement, and Field Leadership to ensure strategy, tools, training, and execution are aligned.
  • Team Leadership: Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team with strong commercial fluency, analytical depth, collaboration, and execution discipline.

Skills/Qualifications/Education: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, education, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • 10+ Years Experience: Proven experience in field effectiveness, commercial operations, sales force effectiveness, commercial analytics, strategy, or related roles, ideally within biopharma, healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Hands-On Analytics Capability: Strong ability to work directly with data, analytics tools, dashboards, and models to generate insights and recommendations.
  • CRM & Commercial Platforms: Experience with CRM platforms, field reporting, customer engagement tools, and commercial performance systems.
  • Field & Frontline Partnership: Demonstrated success partnering with commercial leaders, field leadership, and frontline managers to improve execution and performance.
  • Strategic Operator: Ability to develop strategy while also driving hands-on execution and organizational pull-through.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Strong ability to influence across functions and levels, build trust, and create alignment without relying only on authority.
  • Consulting Background a Plus: Consulting experience is preferred, especially where it demonstrates structured problem solving, executive communication, transformation, and change management capabilities.
  • Builder: Can shape the vision, capabilities, processes, and operating model for a new organization.
  • Analytical Thinker: Uses data to diagnose issues, identify opportunities, and guide decisions.
  • Business Partner: Understands commercial priorities and builds trusted relationships with leadership and the field.
  • Change Agent: Drives adoption, continuous improvement, and measurable business impact.
  • Collaborative Leader: Brings teams together across functions to solve problems and improve execution.
