About the Job
MedStar Health is looking for a Clinical Exercise Physiologist to join our team at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center!
As a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, you will assess patients' physical and functional capacity and implement activities.

  • Primary Duties:
  • Assesses the physical and functional status of patients/customers. Assists in managing, developing, implementing, and evaluating fitness programs. Maintains procedure and training manuals of program operations, equipment, and facility maintenance protocols.
  • Assists in the development and recommendation of department operating budget and ensures that the department operates within the budget. Collaborates with the patient, family, physician, and other health care team members in planning a total rehabilitation program based on individual assessed needs.
  • Coordinates Occupational Health Day and other special wellness events, activities, and promotional strategies. Monitors program results. Develops and implements data collection systems required to provide statistical information reflecting program performance.
  • Develops and performs fitness testing and conducts individualized fitness related programs. Assists in the design, implementation, and evaluation of health-related curricula. Develops materials for wellness seminars, programs, and marketing. Develops promotional materials for the Human Performance Program. Maintains effective working relationships with other departments, and participates in multidisciplinary quality, and service improvement teams.
  • Provides services to other hospital and departmental personnel as required/requested. Collaborates with the patient, family, physician, and other health care team members in planning a total rehabilitation program based on individual assessed needs. Maintains safe equipment, and exercise area. Ensures that the equipment is clean, well maintained, functional and secure.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology or Biomechanics.
  • 1-2 years Clinical experience in cardiac rehabilitation in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, emergency procedures, ECG and BP monitoring techniques and application, and arrhythmias and appropriate emergency intervention.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Clinical Exercise Specialist ACSM certification as an Exercise Test Technician or Exercise Specialist preferred.

This position has a hiring range of
USD $22.48 - USD $39.75 /Hr.
