Job description

Director - Events & Field Marketing
Coastal is entering a bigger stage of growth, and we're looking for a Director of Events & Field Marketing to match that ambition (level can change to Senior Director depending on experience). Reporting to the SVP of Marketing, you will build a strategy that ties to overarching objectives and ensure seamless execution of experiences that drive demand, accelerate deal cycles, and strengthen our Salesforce and Snowflake partnerships - all while strategically scaling the function for continued growth. Our events portfolio spans Salesforce and Snowflake ecosystem conferences, hosted executive experiences, industry events, customer advisory boards, curated social engagements, and more.
Success in this role requires strong cross-functional communication, the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment where excellence and measurable impact are non-negotiable, and a disciplined approach to prioritization and scale. Just as important is a collaborative, positive mindset and a genuine desire to build alongside others.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Develop, document, and socialize an events strategy aligned to broader team and company goals.
  • Apply an outcomes-driven framework to prioritize investments
  • Partner with Coastal's six business units to develop and document event plans integrated across GTM functions
  • Build a scalable, repeatable, and templated approach that enables efficient execution, supported by the right tools and training
  • Enable Coastal teams with best practices and standardized templates that support self-sufficient event execution
  • Collaborate with Salesforce and Snowflake partner marketing teams to uncover and act on co-marketing opportunities
  • Partner closely with Finance to manage budgets with rigor, maintaining full visibility into spend and documented ROI
  • Be accountable for the full lifecycle of event leads, ensuring timely follow-up and pipeline progression
  • Provide clear, executive-level reporting on performance, impact, and optimization opportunities
  • Ensure events are well-coordinated, flawlessly executed, and deliver exceptional attendee experiences while meeting defined objectives
  • Align event programming with broader marketing campaigns and priorities to amplify impact
  • Develop sponsorship packages that attract partner co-investment in Coastal-hosted events
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing events and field marketing team
  • Leverage AI and automation to improve scalability, efficiency, and performance across the events function

Experience/Skills Required:
  • 10+ years of experience running events, preferably within technology or B2B organizations
  • 3+ years of people management experience, with a demonstrated ability to build and scale high-performing teams
  • Understanding of the Salesforce and Snowflake ecosystems-experience working directly with Salesforce is preferred
  • Proven track record of driving measurable pipeline and revenue impact through events
  • Executive presence with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and composed under pressure
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational excellence and a meticulous eye for quality
  • Proactive problem solver with a solutions-oriented approach
  • Collaborative team player with a no-task-too-big-or-too-small mindset
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Salesforce reporting
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace
  • Willingness to travel as needed for on-site event execution
  • Must have full-time, permanent U.S. work authorization

Additional Preferred Experience/Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Portfolio or work samples

Why Coastal, and what we offer:
  • Flexible working hours with an emphasis on a life-work balance (in that order!)
  • Remote flexible work, plus company office locations in Palm Coast, FL, Tyson's Corner, VA & Lexington, KY
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off (RTO), 401K with Company Match, and Medical, Vision, & Dental coverage
  • Competitive quarterly and annual bonus opportunities
  • Continuing education and certification reimbursements, specifically within the Salesforce and Snowflake ecosystems; plus occasional in-house competitions with spot bonuses
  • A flexible and fun team culture! We value transparency, support, flexibility, growth, teamwork, fun, and so much more
  • Frequent team and culture activities, virtual & in-person, including Lunch and Learns, Happy Hours, team-building events, and the Holiday Party to Top All Holiday Parties
