Overview

Position Summary:

Director, Finance-Operations (Immucor Inc., a Werfen Company, Norcross, Georgia): On behalf of a worldwide developer, manufacturer, and distributor of specialized diagnostic instruments for transfusion and transplant products and services, responsible for planning, directing and controlling financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting functions for one or more technology centers. Will serve as the main contact for the technology center (TC) Leadership team for finance related topics and serve as the financial leader on the management team. Responsible for the recruitment, performance management and development of teams. Will provide support and guidance to managers to achieve operational goals.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee financial operations and direct the financial planning and structure.
  • Coordinate, analyze, and report financial performance, projections, and other special projects as required to Executive Management.
  • Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties.
  • Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms and review company's performance.
  • Apply proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent IRFS and GAAP.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate legal requirements. Stay current on new and changing regulations and legislation.
  • Advise Executive Team of financial options and potential risks.
  • Responsible for teams compliance in terms of training, and fulfilment of their tasks and objectives as well as onboarding of new employees and development of the existing team. Manage performance issues and conflict proactively. Use judgement in consulting with department leadership and Human Resources.
  • Ensure that the internal and/or external customer's perspective is a driving force behind strategic priorities, business decisions, organizational processes, and individual activities.
  • Identify and understand problems and opportunities by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative information. Select the best course of action by establishing clear decision criteria, generating and evaluating alternatives, and making timely decisions. Take action that is consistent with available facts and constraints and that optimizes probable consequences.
  • Coordinate the integration of shared service activities into the North America headquarters based in Bedford, Massachusetts, and obtain synergies within Werfen's operations by optimizing the team structure.
  • Integrate the financial operations of new acquisitions.
  • Lead the integration into Werfen's ERP (SAP) of Immucor's financial operations.
  • Harmonize the financial reporting of the Transfusion and Transplant Business Units to Werfen's standards.

This is a hybrid position working mostly at the office in Norcross, GA and maximum 1 day per week from a home office within commuting distance to Norcross, GA. Position requires approximately 15% of time to be spent on domestic and international travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field and 7 years of experience in a financial consulting and/or auditing role at a Big 4 professional service firm.

Must also have: (I) Background applying global accounting policies including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Spanish Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Spanish GAAP); (II) Background performing financial analysis for a regulated industry with intensive R&D operations; (III) Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); (IV) Advanced level expertise in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, BI Tools, and email suites; (V) Background using ERP systems including SAP; (VI) Knowledge of Salesforce as a reporting tool; (VII) Strong written and oral communication, problem solving and analytical skills required; (VIII) Successful track record developing and leading high performing teams; and (IX) Demonstrated knowledge of corporate finance in the context of mergers and acquisitions.

The annual salary range Werfen reasonable expects to pay for the position is $235,352-$240,352. Compensation is reasonably based upon multiple factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and specific needs of the business.
