Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

The Epic Cogito Manager is responsible for the overall design, implementation, operation, and support of Epic Cogito analytics and reporting capabilities. This role provides leadership to Business Intelligence Developers and application administration staff supporting Epic Cogito, including Clarity, Caboodle, Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, Slicer Dicer, registries, metrics, and extracts. The manager leads complex analytics and reporting initiatives, oversees project planning and execution, ensures operational readiness and service excellence, and serves as a liaison between Epic, IT, clinical, and business stakeholders. This role also supports analytics governance, standards, and prioritization processes while developing staff capabilities and ensuring alignment with organizational standards. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in healthcare analytics, business intelligence, application management, or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred. 
  • Must possess previous supervisory and/or consulting experience as well as one or more specific areas of relevant expertise. 
  • Significant project management experience and outstanding analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage large, complex, simultaneous assignments with potentially conflicting priorities and deadlines. 
  • Ability to lead/provoke the thinking of senior level administrators and medical leadership.
  •  Strong leadership/mentoring skills applicable to organizational senior leadership teams, Operational Analytics staff and multi-disciplinary teams. Strong base of technical, facilitative, and process improvement knowledge. 
  • Ability to teach complex technical/analytical concepts to non-Management Services managers and staff. 
  • Knowledge of and access to relevant System data or data gathering techniques. 
  • Sound decision-making skills. Strong diplomacy and collaboration skills. Strong computing skills. 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: 

Epic Certification in COG300 Cogito Project Manager required or must be obtained within six months of hire.
