A Director of Energy is responsible for overseeing an organization's energy strategy, including the management of energy resources, sustainability initiatives, and cost-saving measures. They develop and implement policies to improve energy efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the transition to renewable energy sources. This role often involves coordinating with other departments, analyzing energy usage data, and staying up to date with the latest industry trends and regulations. Directors of Energy play a key role in helping organizations meet their sustainability goals and reduce environmental impact.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a director of energy?

A Director of Energy typically requires a strong background in energy management, project leadership, and a relevant degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
