Summary

We are seeking an Analyst, Pricing Risk to join our Risk Department. This position will report directly to the Director of Risk Management. This position will play a critical role in setting up the pricing and curve validation functions within the Middle Office, while working collaboratively across other analysts and directors. The ideal candidate is a great communicator with a strong focus on accuracy.

General Description Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor and cross-verify daily Mark-to-Market (MTM) closing numbers, regional basis differentials, and index curves mapped within the ETRM platform.
  • Monitor, audit, and validate forward curves and settlement prices ingested from market intelligence suites to ensure structural and financial logic holds true.
  • Design and execute independent price verification (IPV) frameworks to identify off-market trades, pricing anomalies, or stale curves before they impact risk reporting.
  • Leverage knowledge of LNG, Gas and Power Pricing, regional basis spreads, and index pricing schemas to identify and correct data anomalies.
  • Verify that underlying commercial terms, option valuations, pipeline transportation spreads, and storage pricing formulas inside the ETRM closely map to physical reality.
  • Interpret daily position changes, valuation shifts, and curve movements, communicating market risk insights directly to Risk leadership.
  • Exhibit flexibility in work assignments to accommodate changing priorities and business need deadlines.
  • Build and maintain model and database structures related to curve tracking and pricing frameworks.
  • Collaborate with internal risk teams and external market data vendors to ensure clear data transmission across systems.

Qualifications

Required experience

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in Commodity Price Verification, Market Risk Analytics, or Valuation/Product Control in energy trading.
  • Familiarity with ETRM pricing modules (FIS Aligne, Endur, or parallel architectures).
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and valuation modeling.
  • Understanding of upstream market data feeds (Enverus MarketView, ICE, or Platts).
  • Strong analytical curiosity, understanding of market mechanics, and the confidence to communicate effectively with front-office trading desks.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or a highly quantitative field.
