Overview

As an Embedded Software Engineer at Lutron, you will contribute to high-stakes projects from the start. Your efforts will help to maintain our market position as the global leader in smart lighting and shading systems.  

Working within a collaborative, cross-functional team, you'll help bring innovative consumer products to life by tackling real engineering challenges using your skills in various hardware interfaces, distributed cloud services, and a variety of wireless technologies.  

You'll grow through direct mentorship from industry experts, building hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle with a clear path forward deepening your technical expertise while gaining leadership skills through your projects and development as an integral part of the team.

You will encounter a variety of technologies throughout the product lifecycle such as:   

  • Smart IoT systems

  • Distributed cloud services

  • Various hardware interfaces, subsystems and wireless technologies

  • Contemporary software development tools and languages

  • Embedded Linux 

Your contributions will utilize the following foundational areas: 

  • Design and development of algorithms and data structures

  • Object oriented analysis and design

  • Real-time operating systems

  • Protocol design and architecture

  • Agile software methodology

Responsibilities
  • Eliciting software requirements from various stakeholders

  • Participating in software design and implementation

  • Testing, deploying, managing, and maintaining software components

  • Participating in consensus-based software project management

  • Prioritizing feature estimating

  • Collaborating in reviews and demos 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science

  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for each degree earned

  • 0-3 years' experience in a related field

  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position.

  • Willingness and ability to work on-site 5 days per week 

Starting pay: $98,500 to $104,500 per year plus bonus. Lutron's employee benefits include 401k match, health, dental, and life insurance, paid vacation (amount based on tenure with the company), flexible spending accounts, and tuition reimbursement programs.
