We are supporting a client specializing in high-quality enclosure and power solutions, seeking an Electrical Engineer I to design electrical systems used in the power generation industry. This role focuses on low-voltage AC power and control systems for diesel and gas-fueled generators, including design, component selection, testing support, and production troubleshooting. The position offers hands-on engineering experience, cross-functional collaboration, and long-term growth within a well-established organization.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and assist in testing electrical systems for diesel and gas-fueled generators, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, applicable codes, customer specifications, and cost constraints.
  • Review and interpret customer specifications and sales agreements to ensure design compliance.
  • Create and maintain schematics, panel layouts, interconnects, point-to-point wiring diagrams, and other design files using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Design main low-voltage AC power systems below 600V.
  • Evaluate and select electrical and electronic components for control systems.
  • Design control systems supporting heating, filtration, and pumping applications.
  • Create bills of materials using the company’s engineering change order process.
  • Serve as a technical resource for customers and service personnel by helping diagnose and resolve product issues in the field.
  • Support production and collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure design intent and quality standards are met.
  • Incorporate applicable UL and NEC requirements into electrical designs.
  • Stay current with industry developments and contribute ideas for new products and design improvements.
  • Travel to job sites as needed to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Comply with all quality and safety requirements and complete other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • Must Have: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1–2 years of related experience preferred, or 3–5 years of progressively responsible related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must Have: Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical, including schematics, panel layouts, interconnects, and point-to-point wiring diagrams.
  • Must Have: Knowledge of low-voltage AC power systems, control systems, NEC 70E, and UL standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to contribute effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, troubleshoot technical issues, and complete assignments on time.
