Commerce, Data & Identity (CDI) provides the core product management functions for areas crucial to Disney's media businesses. We are responsible for developing and operating The Walt Disney Company's direct-to-consumer video businesses globally, including Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu. We serve consumers by bringing the world's most beloved characters, timeless stories, legendary athletes, and epic sporting events to global audiences through outstanding direct-to-consumer video services. Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for tier-1 services that power hundreds of millions of end-users
  • Own tech design for various initiatives and projects that impact the commerce business and end-user experiences
  • Help shape the commerce platform with new capabilities and improvements that accelerate our business.
  • Be involved in code and architecture reviews for team members
  • Participate in Agile methodology and SCRUM processes such as Sprint Planning
  • Backlog grooming, Daily Standups, and Retrospectives with the team
  • Collaborate with peers and cross-functional partners to disambiguate, de-risk, and solve business problems
  • Provide on-call support for critical services on a rotational basis
  • Own features/functionality and deliver projects end-to-end with high quality and robust architecture

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience crating and coding backend services
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
  • Proven track record of driving impact
  • Experience in backend server-side development for tier-1 services
  • Expertise in at least one language on the JVM
  • Experience working with cloud providers
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Experience investigating technical components and taking ownership of feature development
The hiring range for this position in New York City is $148,700 - $199,400. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
