Job description

Position Summary

The Senior Graphic Designer is a key creative contributor within Mad Engine Global’s Disney Parks & Resorts/The Disney Store design team. This role is responsible for leading concept development, delivering trend-right artwork, and ensuring brand-appropriate design solutions across multiple categories. The Senior Graphic Artist will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners—including Product Development, Merchandising, and Sales—to deliver high-quality Disney Parks & Resort/TDS programs that meet Disney Parks & Resort brand standards, timelines, and business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Creative & Design Execution

  • Develop original, trend-right graphics, prints, patterns, and garment concepts tailored to the various businesses within Disney Parks & Resorts/TDS.
  • Create compelling artwork for apparel and accessories across men’s, women’s, kids’, and seasonal programs as needed.
  • Ensure all designs meet Disney Parks & Resort/TDS brand aesthetics, consumer profiles, and quality expectations.
  • Translate trend insights, market research, and brand strategies into commercially viable designs specifically for the broad Disney Parks & Resorts/TDS consumer.
  • Maintain a consistent design identity across collections while pushing innovation.


Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner closely with the SVP, Creative Director, and Art Manager to align on creative direction.
  • Work with Product Development and the Production Artist to ensure artwork files, color call outs, and embellishment details are completed accurately.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Merchandising to support presentations, concept boards, line reviews, and buyer meetings.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other Sr. Graphic Artists and Graphic Artist partners to ensure that the execution of the creative projects is meeting both the expectations and deadlines.

Technical & Production Responsibilities

  • Build accurate production-ready files, including color separations, repeats, tech packs, and print/embroidery specs.
  • Ensure all artwork meets Disney Parks & Resorts/TDS requirements and brand guidelines.
  • Review strike-offs, print samples, and pre-production materials for accuracy, quality, and color with Product Development as needed.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide guidance and feedback to Graphic Artist and freelancers as needed.
  • Support creative reviews and contribute to elevating overall design standards within the Disney Parks & Resort/The Disney Store business.
  • Lead portions of seasonal concept development and present designs to internal stakeholders.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, Fine Arts, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of graphic design experience in apparel, fashion, or consumer product industries.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing apparel graphics, typography, illustration, prints/patterns, and brand work.

Skills & Competencies

  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; familiarity with other creative apps is a plus.
  • Strong illustration ability (hand-drawn and digital) highly preferred.
  • Superior understanding of color theory, composition, and garment embellishment techniques (screen print, embroidery, appliqué, sublimation, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret and design toward retailer-specific aesthetics.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with shifting priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
