Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Digital Marketing to lead our club's digital initiatives. The role is crucial in developing and executing a comprehensive digital strategy to drive digital growth, fan engagement, and revenue generation. The successful candidate will oversee multiple digital platforms, including the club's website and social media channels, manage the digital marketing budget, and collaborate with various departments to ensure cohesive and innovative digital solutions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute a digital strategy aligned with the club's overall objectives.
  • Set clear goals for digital growth, fan engagement, and revenue generation.
  • Analyze market trends and audience behavior to inform strategy adjustments.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Ticketing, Public Affairs, and Sales to align digital initiatives with club objectives.
  • Oversee the digital marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources across various digital channels for maximum ROI.
  • Oversee the club's official website to ensure it is user-friendly, up-to-date, and reflects the club's branding.
  • Manage and grow the club's presence on social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook.
  • Develop strategies for content creation, community management, and fan engagement across platforms.
  • Plan and produce compelling digital content that aligns with the club's brand storytelling.
  • Work closely with the Director of Content, Creative, and Production teams to drive audience engagement.
  • Use data and creativity to build and maintain the club's brand through impactful, relevant content for both the audience and partners.
  • Monitor and analyze key digital performance metrics such as website traffic, social media engagement, and the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Interpret complex data to extract meaningful insights.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to the club's leadership team, using data to guide strategic decisions and optimize digital marketing efforts.
  • Plan and manage digital advertising campaigns, including paid social media ads, search engine marketing (SEM), and display ads.
  • Ensure campaigns are optimized for maximum reach and ROI.
  • Use fan data to create personalized experiences and targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Implement strategies for collecting and analyzing fan data to increase engagement and loyalty.
  • Stay updated with the latest digital trends and technologies.
  • Implement innovative tools and platforms to enhance the club's digital presence and improve the fan experience.
  • Oversee the development and optimization of the club's mobile app and other digital tools to ensure they meet user needs and increase engagement.
  • Work closely with marketing, sales, ticketing, creative, and Comms teams to ensure digital strategies are integrated with broader club initiatives.
  • Collaborate with sponsors and partners on digital campaigns and activations that align with the club's objectives.
  • Partner with Ticketing and Sales teams to create digital campaigns that promote ticket sales, special offers, and packages.
  • Leverage data to identify opportunities for driving online sales and ticketing promotions.
  • Work with the Sales department to integrate digital strategies that support ticketing promotions, Matchday packages, and merchandise sales across digital platforms.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in sports marketing.
  • Proven experience managing marketing teams and working cross-functionally across departments.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, content marketing, SEO, CMS, email marketing, and digital advertising.
  • Proficiency in using data analytics to measure marketing effectiveness and optimize campaigns.
  • Ability to think strategically in developing Digital initiatives that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing and technology.
  • Exceptional communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Strong passion for soccer and an understanding of the MLS landscape.
  • Ability to work nontraditional hours in nontraditional settings, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Willingness to travel 20% - 30% for Away games
