Director of Business Development

Department: Sales
Location: Seattle, WA- Territory based
Compensation: Base Salary + Commission + Comprehensive Benefits Package

Position Overview

U.S. Legal Support is seeking a highly motivated and relationship-driven Director of Business Development to manage and grow an assigned territory within the Southern California market.

This role is responsible for expanding existing client relationships, developing new business opportunities, and positioning U.S. Legal Support as a trusted partner to law firms, corporate legal departments, and insurance organizations. The ideal candidate possesses strong consultative sales skills, a proven track record of revenue growth, and experience working within the legal services industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute territory growth strategies to achieve and exceed sales objectives.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Build relationships across all levels of client organizations, including Paralegals, Legal Secretaries, Legal Administrators, Attorneys, and Partners.
  • Promote and sell U.S. Legal Support's litigation support services through a consultative sales approach.
  • Deliver professional presentations and product demonstrations tailored to client needs.
  • Understand and effectively communicate service offerings, pricing structures, and value propositions.
  • Maximize revenue opportunities through strategic account management and business development activities.
  • Provide client training and support related to U.S. Legal Support's services and technology solutions.
  • Generate new business through networking, referrals, industry events, and proactive prospecting.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline, and forecasting information.
  • Collaborate with internal operations and client service teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
  • Attend and participate in all required sales meetings, training sessions, and team initiatives.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical business practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Legal industry experience required, including experience in litigation support, court reporting, legal technology, law firms, corporate legal departments, insurance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, account management, or outside sales.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals and performance metrics.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage a territory.
  • Reliable transportation, current automobile insurance, and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience selling litigation support, court reporting, eDiscovery, record retrieval, trial services, or other legal services.
  • Established relationships within the Southern California legal community.
  • Experience working with law firms, corporate legal departments, and insurance carriers.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business while growing existing accounts.
