Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position is responsible for supporting the company's Strategy and M&A initiatives and strategic planning including financial, market, and operational analysis.

The Director of Corporate Development & Finance is a business and functional expert with experience managing multiple projects, teams, and external relationships. Creative analysis, independent thought, and a proactive approach to adding value to the organization are key elements of this position. This role will require the individual to be a creative problem solver that works across multiple areas of accounting, business development, finance, legal, operations, and project management. The person in this role will need to be flexible and capable of taking on various projects, including:

  • Financial modeling for M&A, joint ventures, project development and financing activities,
  • Assisting Business Development in pricing strategy and assessment of credit risk,
  • Negotiating commercial business agreements,
  • Serving as an integral member of company's strategic planning effort to identify, assess, and prioritize growth opportunities,
  • Developing key competitor analysis, industry trend analysis and monitoring key target,
  • Capital markets activities supporting the Amp Americas' growth & funding initiatives

This role must be skilled in structuring, finance, project management and can demonstrate fact-based professional judgement, detailed and proactive learning of Amp Americas' financial performance and key drivers, knowledge in disciplined approach to decision making, experience with consistent problem solving efforts, and a track record of meeting timeline of work deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct due diligence activities
  • Act as a liaison between Corporate Development and other Amp departments to successfully implement our strategy and support the overall growth efforts of the organization
  • Support the office of the CFO on strategic finance initiatives
  • Structure and negotiate commercial relationships between Amp and its business partners
  • Collaborate with project managers, project team members, internal and external stakeholders including senior leadership, operations, engineering, legal and accounting to meet corporate business objectives
  • Effectively build and maintain positive relationships with Amp team members, sponsors, service providers and other stakeholders
  • Provide quarterly/annual updates on competitor/key target opportunities and develop targeted acquisition plans
  • Support other growth initiatives and strategies as required to help the organization achieve its overall corporate goals

Required Skills / Abilities / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a diploma in a related field from a top-tier university (required)
  • Master's degree in finance or business administration from a top-tier university (preferred)
  • 10 years of related business, finance, or investment banking experience (required)
  • Experienced in structuring and negotiating debt agreements, including project finance debt (preferred)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, and talent for accuracy and precision (required)
  • Strong quantitative data analysis skills, including advanced Excel modeling skills (required)
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, including advanced PowerPoint skills (required)
  • Experience with using AI for finance, coding with Python, using or creating RAG frameworks (preferred)
  • Deal structuring experience (preferred)
  • Passion for and track record of delivering results and problem solving (required)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain trusting relationships internally and externally (required)
