Job description


American Express Company seeks Director, Data Analytics to provide data-intensive, strategic assessments of products and respond to portfolio-specific business questions.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain centralized reporting to support business leaders, including executive dashboards. Support setup of infrastructure for centralized repositories, table views, and data definitions, ensuring consensus on definitions and metrics. Conduct analytics to identify business opportunities and make recommendations. Review data for completeness and accuracy before presentations to senior leaders. Analyze and interpret the results of product experiments. Manage team in geographically diverse locations and coach reports through the analytics lifecycle.
Qualifications
Position requires a Master's degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Business Administration, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and 2 years of experience performing quantitative business analysis. Experience must include 2 years of experience with each of the following: using Big Data tools including Hadoop, Hive, Python, R, SAS, Scala, Spark, and SQL; analytical and problem-solving skills to break down complex problems into components and solve them using quantitative analysis; data visualization, KPIs, and scorecards; experimental test design; communicating complex technical projects to non-technical, senior-level audiences; and the credit card industry and charge card economics. Telecommuting is available up to 2 days per week.
