Job description

Join Sourcebooks, the fastest growing publisher in the U.S., where creativity, innovation, and storytelling collide. This isn't a coffee-run internship - you'll contribute to real projects, collaborate with publishing professionals, and see how your work impacts readers everywhere. What you study doesn't matter: we're looking for your curiosity, your drive to learn, and your interest in books.
Program Details
  • Program Dates: September 14 - November 21, 2026
  • Schedule: 21 hours/week throughout the program
  • Compensation: Paid, $17/hour ($20/hour for interns based in CT, MA, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, or Washington D.C.)
  • Application Deadline: August 1, 2026 - apply soon!

About the Role: Data & Analytics
The Sourcebooks Data Team is looking for a curious, detail-oriented student to support our work turning publishing data into insight. Projects vary by season, so you'll pitch in wherever the team's priorities land in the fall - this could include reporting, analysis, dashboarding, or data infrastructure work, depending on what's on our plate.
Duties include (but not limited to):
  • Assist with building and maintaining reports and dashboards used across the company
  • Help analyze sales, marketing, and title performance data to support business decisions
  • Support data cleaning, organization, and documentation efforts
  • Contribute to special projects and ad hoc analysis as priorities come up throughout the fall
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to understand data needs and deliver useful, accurate answers
  • Provide general administrative support as needed
What we're looking for:
  • Interest and/or coursework in business analysis, data analytics, data science, or data engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort working with spreadsheets and data tools; experience with SQL, Python, or Power BI is a plus but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Curious, proactive attitude and comfort with ambiguity as priorities shift
  • A genuine interest in books and publishing
Eligibility & Requirements
  • Must be a current college student (sophomore, junior, senior) or recent graduate
  • Able to commit to 21 hours/week for the full program duration (9/14 - 11/21/26)
  • Must reside in one of the following states for the duration of the internship: Arizona, Connecticut, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin.

  • Why publishing - and why Sourcebooks - what excites you
  • What you hope to learn and contribute
  • How your creativity, curiosity, or love of books shines through

Applications without a cover letter won't be considered, so take the time to tell your story!
