Job description

Description

WHAT IF YOU COULD REINVENT AN ICON -AND HELP BUILD WHAT’S NEXT?

PHE, Inc. is looking for a Creative Director to lead creative for the company as a whole, redefining how one of America’s most recognizable brands looks, feels, and connects with a new generation, while shaping the visual identity of what’s to come.

This is a rare opportunity for a creative leader who sees the world through design and can connect it to commercial success. Someone who can set a creative vision, build a brand identity, direct a campaign, obsess over packaging, shape a visual system, and inspire a team to make work that people remember, across every brand under the PHE umbrella.

We don’t need someone to manage what exists. We need someone to define and lead what’s next.

WHY PHE?

Located in Hillsborough, NC, PHE offers the opportunity to do meaningful, high-impact creative work in a community known for its character, creativity, and quality of life. We’re a company that takes care of its people, too, with a strong benefits package that includes health insurance, 401(k), half-day Fridays, performance bonuses, generous vacation time, and more.

This is a hybrid position (2 days in office/ 3 days a week WFH) based in Hillsborough, NC, and candidates must be willing to relocate to North Carolina. Our office is located ~20 minutes from Durham or Chapel Hill and ~45 minutes from Raleigh.

Requirements WHAT YOU BRING
  • 10+ years of creative experience with substantial experience in creative leadership.
  • An art-first portfolio that demonstrates exceptional art direction, visual design, and creative direction.
  • Significant experience building, evolving, or governing a brand identity or design system.
  • Experience shaping brand voice and consumer connection, not just visual polish, through purpose-driven storytelling.
  • Experience leading integrated campaigns, product launches, and creative across multiple channels.
  • Experience with packaging, product presentation and product-first marketing.
  • Experience directing photography, video, illustration, or other visual disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing multidisciplinary creative teams.
  • Experience working with both internal teams and external agencies.
  • Experience transforming a creative or production organization through a meaningful change in operating model.
  • Strong understanding of digital-first creative, ecommerce, social, and omnichannel brand experiences.
  • Strong familiarity with social-first, platform-native content creation and creator/influencer ecosystems.
  • Working fluency with modern CMS environments and a practical understanding of HTML/CSS. You do not need to be a developer-you need enough technical fluency to work collaboratively with UX/UI, Site Operations, and Web Development.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in various Design fields, Fine Arts, Marketing, or a related field.
You should also have:
  • Experience working across both digital and physical brand environments.
  • The ability to balance brand building with commercial performance.
  • Beauty, personal care, wellness, lifestyle, premium consumer, CPG, retail, or D2C experience is a plus.
  • Comfort setting creative KPIs and using performance data to inform testing and optimization.

*PHE, Inc. will reasonably accommodate qualified individuals with a disability so that they can perform the essential functions of a job unless doing so causes a direct threat to these individuals or others in the workplace and the threat cannot be eliminated by reasonable accommodation or if the accommodation creates an undue hardship to PHE, Inc.
