If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.

Overview

Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack โ€” from electrons to tokens โ€” to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads.

We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power and infrastructure are the bottlenecks.

As Director of Quality Control, you will own the quality function across Crusoe's data center construction portfolio. You will set the standard โ€” building the systems, frameworks, and team that ensure every site delivers mission-critical infrastructure that performs on day one and scales reliably for the long term. This role sets QA/QC strategy across the program, leads a distributed team of QC Managers and Senior QC Managers, and operates as the senior quality voice in executive forums alongside Construction, Commissioning, Design, and Operations leadership.

This is a portfolio-level leadership role with deep technical roots in construction, MEP systems, and commissioning โ€” where quality strategy directly drives uptime, capital efficiency, and Crusoe's ability to deliver at scale.

ย
What You'll Be Working On
  • Define and own the enterprise QA/QC strategy across all DIG construction projects, from greenfield through turnover

  • Build, lead, and develop a multi-site team of QC Managers and Senior QC Managers; set hiring plans, performance standards, and career pathing

  • Establish the program-level Quality Management System (QMS) โ€” standards, playbooks, ITP libraries, inspection frameworks, and reporting cadences that scale across sites

  • Drive consistency and continuous improvement across the portfolio by codifying lessons learned, defect trends, and systemic root causes into repeatable standards

  • Partner with executive leadership in Construction, Commissioning, Design, Procurement, and Operations to align quality strategy with delivery, schedule, and reliability outcomes

  • Own the quality relationship with GCs, major subcontractors, and OEM partners at the program level โ€” including pre-qualification standards, contractual quality requirements, and escalation pathways

  • Set the standard for how Crusoe coordinates with AHJs, third-party inspectors, and certifying bodies across all jurisdictions

  • Establish the metrics, dashboards, and reporting that give executive leadership real-time visibility into quality performance, risk, and trend data across the portfolio

  • Define commissioning readiness standards and ensure construction-to-commissioning handoff integrity across every project

  • Own program-wide turnover documentation standards (as-builts, redlines, test reports, O&M manuals) and audit readiness posture

  • Lead post-incident and post-project quality reviews; translate findings into program-level corrective action

  • Represent the quality function in executive reviews, board-level updates, and customer/partner audits as needed

  • Influence design and constructability decisions upstream by feeding field-driven quality intelligence back into Design and Preconstruction

    ย
What Success Looks Like
  • A scalable, repeatable QA/QC program that delivers consistent first-pass commissioning success across every site

  • A high-performing, well-developed QC team that grows with the portfolio

  • Measurable year-over-year reduction in rework, repeat defects, and systemic quality issues

  • Quality performance data is trusted, visible, and drives executive decision-making

  • Crusoe's quality posture is a competitive advantage with GCs, subcontractors, customers, and AHJs

  • Construction, Commissioning, and Design operate from a shared, quality-aligned playbook

    ย
Who You Are
  • 15+ years in construction QA/QC, with at least 5 years leading quality at a program, portfolio, or multi-site level

  • Demonstrated experience building and leading distributed QC teams across multiple active projects

  • Deep expertise in MEP systems for mission-critical environments โ€” electrical distribution, mechanical/cooling, controls

  • Track record establishing enterprise QMS frameworks, standards, and metrics from the ground up or at significant scale

  • Proven executive presence โ€” able to influence senior construction, commissioning, design, and operations leaders

  • Experience driving commissioning integration and construction-to-Cx handoff at the program level

  • Strong command of quality data โ€” trend analysis, defect taxonomy, root cause methodology, continuous improvement frameworks

  • Comfortable owning the quality relationship with major GCs and subcontractors at the contractual and executive level

  • Systems thinker โ€” sees how decisions in one phase ripple through commissioning, turnover, and operations

    ย
Nice to Have
  • Hyperscale or large-scale data center program experience (AWS, Meta, Google, Microsoft, or peer)

  • Background in other complex mission-critical verticals (Healthcare, Semiconductor, Refinery, Central Plants)

  • Experience standing up a quality function or scaling one through rapid growth

  • Familiarity with Procore, BIM360, and enterprise construction/quality data platforms

  • Relevant certifications (CQM, CQI, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar)

  • Experience interfacing with hyperscale customers or executive-level audits

ย
Additional Expectations
  • Based on-site in Dallas, TX, with regular travel to Crusoe's active construction sites โ€” including Amarillo and other DIG locations as the portfolio grows

  • Ability to hold senior contractor and internal leaders accountable to quality standards, including formal escalation

Commitment to building a culture of quality, safety, and execution excellence across every level of the program

ย

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation and equity packages

  • Restricted Stock Units

  • Paid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programs

  • Comprehensive health, dental & vision insurance

  • Employer contributions to HSA account

  • Paid parental leave

  • Paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability

  • Professional development & tuition reimbursement

  • Mental health & wellness support

  • Commuter benefits (parking & transit)

  • Cell phone stipend

  • 401(k) Retirement plan with company match up to 4% of salary

  • Volunteer time off

  • Global travel insurance & emergency assistance

  • Daily meals allowance

  • Additional perks & programs specific to location

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $188,000 -$235,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
