Job Description:

As the Director of Cloud Architecture for CSP Enablement, you will be the primary technical authority responsible for the success of Cloud Service Providers building on HPE's software stack. You will lead the strategy for how CSPs architect, deploy, and operate high-scale Private and Sovereign Clouds using HPE Morpheus (Orchestration), HPE OpsRamp (Observability), and HPE Zerto (Data Protection).

This is a high-impact leadership role that requires a rare blend of "deep-in-the-weeds" technical expertise and you will sit at the intersection of cloud architecture, CSP business models, and product execution, partnering deeply with Engineering, Sales, Alliances, and CSPs.

This position could be based anywhere in the United States.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Strategic CSP Roadmap Alignment

  • This role owns the technical product strategy that enables CSPs to build, own, and operate scalable, secure, and commercially viable clouds using HPE CloudOps Software virtualization stacks-spanning compute, networking, storage, lifecycle automation, observability, and multi-tenant operations.

  • Executive Technical Interface: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for VPs of Engineering and CTOs at CSPs.

2. Technical Architecture & Design

  • Validated Designs (CVDs): Own the creation and maintenance of HPE Validated Designs specifically for CSP use cases (e.g., "Sovereign Cloud-in-a-Box").|

  • Reference Architectures: Define how HPE CloudOps software integrates with underlying hardware and third-party stacks e.g. OpenShift

3. Thought Leadership & Technical Collateral

  • Content Engine: Author high-value technical white papers, reference guides, and deep-dive architectural blogs.

  • Speaker & Evangelist: Represent HPE Cloud Ops at major industry events (e.g., , Advisory Boards, HPE Discover).

4. Technical Enablement & Operations

  • Day 0 to Day 2 Success: Define the blueprints for how CSPs not only build their clouds but how they operate them profitably using AIOps and automated lifecycle management

  • Sales Engineering Bridge: Act as the "Level 3" support for global field teams on complex, multi-product CSP architectural bids.

5. Business Logic & Monetization Strategy

  • Service Catalog Definition: Help CSPs define what their "Product Catalog" looks like when powered by HPE (e.g., defining "Backup-as-a-Service" tiers using Zerto).

Experience & Skills

1. Professional Background

  • 10+ years in Technical Product Management or Systems Architecture.

  • Prior Experience: Must have held a similar role at VMware, Red Hat, Nutanix, or a Hyperscaler (AWS/Azure/GCP) specifically focused on partner/service provider enablement.

2. Deep Technical Stack Expertise

  • Virtualization: Deep knowledge of ESXi, KVM, and AHV.

  • Cloud Native: Strong command of Kubernetes, OpenShift, and container networking/storage.

  • Operations/Observability: Expertise in AIOps, distributed tracing, and multi-cloud monitoring.

  • Data Protection: Understanding of RPO/RTO requirements for disaster recovery and cyber-resilience.

3. Leadership & Influence

  • Proven ability to lead through influence across a matrixed organization (Engineering, Marketing, and Sales).
