Job description

The Director of Operations - Mobile Service is responsible for developing, deploying, maintaining and executing a comprehensive strategy for growing a profitable mobile service business for Rush Enterprises. Responsibilities include but are not limited to creating a vision of success, establishing a mobile service business unit with profit and loss responsibility and reporting; and leading the organizational changes, process creation and deployment of systems to facilitate achievement of our objectives.

As a leader of a business unit in our performance driven organization, the Director of Operations - Mobile Service will identify and collaboratively establish the key performance indicators for measuring success, ensure a process for performance management, and integrate with our field leaders and mobile service personnel achieve desired results through their ability to collaborate, recruit and develop talent.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop 5-year comprehensive strategic roadmap for Mobile Service
  • Propose and obtain approval of optimal field organizational structure and associated timeline to support objectives
  • Work with Accounting and SAP teams to develop accounting segmentation to track KPI’s, including but not limited to financial performance and sales growth
  • Work with RushCare to develop a centralized contact center for Mobile Service customers
  • Implement scheduling software to optimize asset and personnel utilization
  • Develop and deploy methodology for nationwide parts fulfilment to Mobile Techs
  • Develop Technician recruiting and retention strategies to grow Mobile Tech count and maximize market reach
  • Standardize asset selection and deployment process to maximize utilization and minimize operating cost
  • Scout for potential acquisition targets, as well as execute integration of completed acquisitions
  • Provide leadership to Regional General Managers and field personnel to ensure operational execution and financial performance within our Mobile Service business segment.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors Degree or higher preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in commercial vehicle parts and service or related industry

Other Skills and Abilities Required

  • SAP experience is preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Outstanding collaborator and influence
