Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a seasoned Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of War (DoW) executive to serve as a Business Development Director, driving growth and shaping new opportunities across the Intelligence marketspace. This highly visible role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives at the intersection of customer engagement, mission understanding, and business strategy.

This position reports to the Chief Growth Officer of Peraton's Space Sector. While the role is based in Northern Virginia, nonlocal candidates will be expected to travel as needed.

What You'll Do

As a key member of our Space Sector growth team, you will collaborate closely with operational and functional leaders to expand Peraton's footprint across IC and DoW Space customers. You will:

  • Build deep understanding of customer missions, competitor landscapes, and market dynamics
  • Develop strategic business cases that align customer needs with Peraton's capabilities and differentiators
  • Build and execute a targeted strategic account plan with measurable objectives
  • Identify, qualify, and mature a robust new business pipeline to accelerate deal velocity
  • Lead customer engagement efforts as the primary interface with IC and DoW Space organizations
  • Shape customer requirements and acquisition strategies early in the lifecycle
  • Champion the Peraton Business Acquisition Process and ensure transparent communication with leadership and technical teams
  • Guide customers and internal technical experts by developing RFIs, white papers, briefings, demonstrations, and other earlystage opportunity artifacts
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 16+ years of operations or business development experience supporting IC or DoW space organizations (e.g., NRO, NGA, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Air Force, Rapid Capabilities Offices)
  • Proven track record leading major ($100M+) pursuits through capture phases, including identification, qualification, and win strategy development
  • Experience with NGA acquisition lifecycle
  • Familiarity with major types of federal government acquisitions like systems engineering and technical assistance (SETA), Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS), Support Services, and Engineering Services (R&D)
  • Demonstrated success winning contracts with NGA and DoW Space customers
  • Strong relationships with senior IC, DoD, and industry leaders
  • Experience developing partnerships and strategic teaming strategies
  • Superior executive presence, communication skills, and business acumen
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active TS/SCI clearance

Target Salary Range$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
