Director, Business Development

Greater Los Angeles Area | Travel Required

$160 - 180K OTE

Who We Are

Curbee is the fastest-growing mobile service technology company in automotive. We help dealerships launch, manage, and scale mobile service operations through our platform, M.A.R.S. (Mobile and Remote Service).

Our technology enables dealerships to send the right van, to the right job, with the right parts, at the right time, creating a better experience for customers while driving operational efficiency and profitability.

Weโ€™re a scrappy, curious, and resourceful team that believes in working hard, having fun, and building something meaningful together. We spend time in the field with our Dealer & OEM Partners, to create awareness and momentum across broader OEM organizations. Collaborate closely across teams, and share in the success we create through equity ownership.

What Youโ€™ll Do

As the Director, Business Development, you will build out the playbook, team, metrics & long term strategy for the business development team. You will be the owner of the OEM relationships, ensuring every OEM and relevant field organization has a clear point of contact, an active partnership, and an intentional path forward. You will lead efforts to deepen existing relationships and build new ones across automotive OEMs, major dealer groups, and their broader networks.

This is a strategic, hands-on role focused on turning strong relationships and successful programs into repeatable, scalable business. Working closely with Curbee leadership and key relationship owners, youโ€™ll open new doors, engage and educate field teams, support pilots and launches, and create momentum that expands Curbee across dealers, districts, regions, and OEM programs.

Responsibilities Own the OEM Coverage Strategy
  • Find, build, and maintain Curbeeโ€™s OEM relationships, including with corporate headquarters, regional offices, and field organizations.
  • Develop and execute strategies that expand awareness, engagement, pilot opportunities, and revenue across OEM organizations.
  • Share insights from manufacturers, field teams, dealers, and industry partners back into Curbee's product, go-to-market, and partnership strategy.
  • Educate OEM and field teams on mobile service, Curbeeโ€™s platform, and how to identify opportunities within their dealer networks.
Build New Opportunities
  • Identify and develop new relationships with OEMs, field offices, major automotive groups, and other strategic corporate partners.
  • Create and manage pilot programs & OEM initiatives to ensure successful engagement for long-term success with Curbee.
  • Expand opportunities by engaging the right stakeholders, maintaining momentum, and driving relationships forward.
  • Discover opportunities to participate in parts and service club meetings, regional meetings, district events, and other OEM field forums.
Turn Wins Into Momentum
  • Capture and package OEM, dealer, and pilot successes into compelling stories to create awareness and momentum across broader OEM organizations.
  • Partner with Marketing to turn successes into proof points that accelerate expansion across the industry.
  • Capitalize on expansion opportunities to fuel commercial outcomes.
How Youโ€™ll Succeed at Curbee:

Weโ€™re looking for a highly motivated relationshipโ€‘builder and operator who is equally comfortable thinking strategically and managing the details required to move complex opportunities forward.

Youโ€™ll succeed at Curbee if youโ€™re:
  • Curious: You ask questions, seek to understand how things work, and look for opportunities others may miss.
  • Resourceful: You know how to find answers, build relationships, and overcome obstacles.
  • Get It Done: You take ownership, follow through, and make sure important initiatives do not get lost.
  • A Natural Relationshipโ€‘Builder: You develop trust quickly within Curbee and at every level of an OEM relationship.
  • Highly Organized: You can manage multiple complex relationships, opportunities, pilots, and follow-ups at the same time.
  • Comfortable With Ambiguity: You thrive in a startup environment where priorities evolve and you may need to jump into new initiatives quickly.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of direct experience working for an automotive OEM, preferably within field operations, fixed operations, dealer development, or a similar OEMโ€‘facing organization.
  • Vendor experience calling on Dealerships, MAGs, and similar automotive companies.
  • Strong understanding of dealership operations and fixed operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage long sales cycles, strategic partnerships, pilots, and multiโ€‘stage business development initiatives.
  • Ability to create and maintain organized account plans, opportunity tracking, and followโ€‘up processes.
  • Able to travel extensively for OEM meetings, field events, dealer launches, industry conferences, and strategic opportunities.
Bonus Points
  • Experience in mobile service, fixed operations consulting, dealership technology, or automotive transformation initiatives.
  • Experience creating customer stories, case studies, presentations, or other business development content.
  • Comfortable using CRM, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and other modern collaboration and sales tools.
What Youโ€™ll Get
  • Competitive base salary and performanceโ€‘based compensation
  • Equity ownership
  • Comprehensive benefits
  • Unlimited PTO
  • The opportunity to build and own Curbeeโ€™s OEM business development motion
  • A highly visible role working directly with Curbee leadership and some of the largest automotive manufacturers in the industry
  • The opportunity to help transform automotive service while making a significant impact at a highโ€‘growth company
