Medical Director / Breast Imager – University of Maryland School of Medicine

The Department of Radiology of the University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking an ABR board‑certified, fellowship‑trained Breast Imaging Radiologist to join an expanding program in Breast Imaging services and assume the role of Medical Director of outpatient imaging centers in Largo and La Plata.

Our practice is experiencing growth with a new breast imaging center in Largo and expansion of breast services at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Imaging Center in La Plata. Our breast program is integrated with the hospital multidisciplinary breast programs where talented collaborators in Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Medical Oncology are available in a supportive environment.

Candidates should have clinical experience in digital mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and interventional imaging‑guided breast procedures. Candidates with a combination of body imaging and breast imaging fellowship are welcome to apply. Candidates should be committed to patient‑focused care, interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork, teaching, and collaborative clinical research.

The position is for a full‑time faculty that can be solely dedicated to breast imaging and, if desired, body imaging. Protected academic and administrative time is negotiable for candidates with an interest. Breast imagers do not have call responsibility. Breast imaging moonlighting opportunities are available at our other facilities.

Expected rank for this position is Assistant Professor or higher; however, rank and tenure status is dependent on candidate’s qualifications.

The University of Maryland School of Medicine is an equal‑opportunity, affirmative‑action employer that offers excellent benefits, vacation, and a competitive salary. Minorities, women, individuals with disabilities, and protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
