Baseball Coach - Hitting, Pitching & Head Junior Varsity Coach
Purpose
The Upper School Baseball Coach is responsible for developing and leading a competitive, safe, and positive Baseball program for student-athletes.
Pine Crest School is seeking qualified candidates for multiple positions in its high school baseball program, including pitching coach, hitting coach and a head junior varsity coach.
Essential Job Functions
  • Supports the School's mission statement and the philosophy of the department and adheres to School policies and procedures, including but not limited to what is outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and enthusiastic team culture
  • Serve as a mentor, offering support and encouraging the mental and physical development of student-athlete
  • Promotes individual growth in traits such as teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship at all times
  • Understands and implements all appropriate rules and regulations according to the sport guideline
  • Maintains proper control and discipline in a positive manner by establishing good, wholesome rapport through healthy, professional relationships
  • Instructs student-athletes in the proper care and use of practice facilities, equipment, and uniforms
  • Accompanies and supervises student-athletes during all activities associated with the sport
  • Stays abreast of the latest advances in all facets of the sport
  • Markets and promotes all athletic teams/programs at Pine Crest
  • Supports the philosophy of the Athletic Department
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Supervisor or their designee

Hitting Coach Duties:
  • Plan and implement structured hitting programs for all levels
  • Analyze swing mechanics and provide individualized instruction
  • Utilize video and data (if available) to improve player performance
  • Coordinate with varsity staff on offensive strategy and approach

Pitching Coach Duties:
  • Develop and oversee pitching staff across JV and varsity levels
  • Create throwing programs, monitor workload, and emphasize arm care
  • Teach mechanics, pitch development, and game strategy
  • Track performance and communicate regularly with coaching staff

JV Head Coach Duties:
  • Lead all aspects of the JV team, including practices, games, and player development
  • Foster a positive, disciplined, and team-oriented environment
  • Align JV program with varsity philosophy and systems
  • Evaluate and prepare players for advancement to varsity level

Job Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience and Qualifications
Minimum 1 years' experience in playing or coaching Baseball (high school and college preferred)Strong leadership, motivational skills, and clear verbal/written communication
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Strong understanding of hitting and/or pitching fundamentals
Availability for practices, games, and occasional offseason workouts (including some weekends)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with video analysis tools and player development technologyBackground in strength and conditioning or arm care programs
