Job description

SNC is redefining the future of airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (A-ISR) - and our Hagerstown manufacturing team plays a mission-critical role in making that future real. As we advance programs like RAPCON-X, our digitally born, MBSE-engineered, modular Next-Gen ISR platform, we rely on bold thinkers who thrive at the intersection of advanced avionics, precision manufacturing, and real-world mission impact. As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Avionics), you will be a driving force behind the production and integration of the avionics systems that power SNC's next-generation ISR capabilities. You'll lead the development, optimization, and execution of manufacturing processes that enable rapid integration of sensors, mission systems, and aircraft survivability technologies - all essential elements of RAPCON-X's modular open-systems architecture and reconfigurable mission payload design. In this hands-on, high-impact role, you'll partner with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure our aircraft move efficiently from concept to capability. Your work will directly support aircraft-level modifications, avionics harness design, integration of mission equipment, and production readiness for platforms engineered to operate in peer-to-peer and near-peer threat environments - a defining hallmark of SNC's Next-Gen ISR strategy. You'll also influence manufacturability, drive continuous improvement, reduce build cycle times, and resolve complex avionics production challenges. As Hagerstown continues to scale its importance within SNC's ISR portfolio, your leadership and technical expertise will help shape a production environment capable of delivering mission-ready aircraft worldwide. To learn more about RAPCON-X and SNC's Next-Gen ISR capabilities, visit:

Responsibilities: * Function as the Technical Lead for implementation of DFM/DFA principles on critical new product introduction (NPI) programs to ensure designs are optimized for production.
* Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and quality standards.
* Architect the process flow and workstation layout for new production lines, ensuring optimal efficiency and ergonomics.
* Design, develop, and validate sophisticated production tooling and fixtures.
* Conduct in-depth root cause analysis and implement robust corrective actions.
* Mentor and coach junior engineers on best practices and technical skills.
* Drive and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Qualifications You Must Have: * Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
* 10+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
* Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
* Familiarity with applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5, particularly as it applies to avionics components and assemblies
* Capability of working in multi-disciplinary teams, including close collaboration with avionics engineers, technicians, and quality assurance
* Experience developing work instructions/travelers specific to avionics assembly, wiring, and system integration
* Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems, with an emphasis on avionics-related product data and processes
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints for aircraft and avionic systems
* Hands-on experience with wiring installation, troubleshooting, and repair in avionics and aircraft electrical systems
* Knowledge of assembling and installing connectors, wire harnesses, and electronic components typically used in aerospace and avionic applications
* Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Secret Security Clearance Qualification We Prefer: * Direct background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, specifically within avionics integration and modification programs
* Aircraft modification experience with a focus on avionics systems (communications, navigation, flight control, etc.)
* Participation in Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including disposition of non-conformances related to avionics hardware or installations
* Experience with new avionics product introduction and transition to production environments
* Experience supporting aircraft modification projects from concept through implementation, including close interaction with shop floor personnel and avionics technicians
