Position Summary:
Bush Hog, RhinoAg, and Dixie Chopper are among the most recognized and successful brands in the Agricultural and Outdoor Power Equipment industries. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician Intern supports the Manufacturing Engineering team in improving production processes, equipment, and product quality within a manufacturing environment. This internship provides hands-on exposure to manufacturing operations, process improvement, tooling, and production support activities. The intern works closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams while developing technical, problem-solving, and professional skills.
Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers with day-to-day production support activities
  • Support evaluation and improvement of manufacturing processes for efficiency, safety, quality, and cost
  • Assist with time studies, workflow analysis, and layout improvements
  • Help develop, update, and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process documentation
  • Support fixture, tooling, and assembly aid design or modification as directed
  • Assist with testing, data collection, and analysis related to manufacturing processes or equipment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, waste reduction, ergonomics)
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas in accordance with plant standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
  • Interest in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial processes
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to work hands-on in a production environment
  • Ability to follow instructions, safety rules, and standard procedures
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word); CAD exposure is a plus but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Flexibility to support manufacturing schedules and project needs

Education and Experience:
  • Currently enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor's degree program in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field required
  • Previous manufacturing, show, or technical experience is beneficial but not required
